โ€™Paige is a 245hr RYT. Trained in vinyasa flow, restorative and yin yoga. Experienced in teaching a range of different classes and levels in these styles but with a love for welcoming beginners in to the yoga world.
What Paige loves most about teaching yoga is the sense of community and connection it
can give us, bringing people together and creating a sense of awareness and support for ourselves and others. Passionate about creating a supportive and gentle space Paige's classes aim to allow for the exploration or ourselves both physically and mentally in a kind and open environment. Feeling the best I have felt in agesssss! Following one health issue from another.
I managed to get to class without running from one place to the next (for a delightful change) and took full advantage of such a beautiful and inviting studio Sankalpa Yoga Glasgow . ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ

Feeling absolutely blissful after a super grounding flow with some absolutely lovely people (yoga has the best ones ๐Ÿ˜‰) so much so that I stayed for a super relaxing but invigorating yin practice with the wonderful Jacqueline Murray and then ran home with the energy both teaching and practicing gave me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This for me goes a long way to show how listening to your body, your energy and honoring that can give you what you need. Whether that be to slow down rest and restore, to tuck yourself away and connect or for something more motivating and invigorating and sociable. The hard bit is taking the time to connect and acknowledge what we need and then honoring that instead of fighting against it.

Life is a series of these rollacoster ups and downs. The hard part is learning to ride the waves (I've definitely stolen that quote) and accepting where we are right now and honoring that!

๐Ÿ‚I am feeling a call to balance right now with the need to invigorate and motivate but also feeling that why is everything so difficult now energy!
So listening to that we are working with the fire element this week however with the focus being strongly on listening to the balance of what is enough for our energies right now and niot pushing beyond those boundaries.

๐Ÿ‚Working with the New Moon ๐ŸŒ™this week which is all about setting our intentions and manifesting our journey forwards. Therefore this week we will be dancing with the space element ๐Ÿ’ซ incorporating all of our 7 chakras cleansing and clearing in preparation for our move forwards. Whether these are big or small movements is not important, only that we do so with an open heart to all possibilities and belief that the right things will come even if it is outwith our expectations. (This is known as non attachment in sankirt)

๐Ÿ‚The space element ๐Ÿ’ซis all about exactly that, creating space everywhere in our bodies and our minds. Shifting anything no longer needed energising, awakening and clearing the path forwards.

I have chosen the water flow this week as it is a great practice to work with around full moon time, having just had the Aquarius full moon.

๐ŸŒ Full moon is a time for slowing down and allowing ourselves to connect, sense, feel anything that is going on within us, physically, mentally emotionally. It's a time for surrender and being with ourselves, gaining knowledge and acceptance for where we are and releasing anything that will not serve us in our onwards journey, with freedom and liberation.

This week we are moving on to the earth practice ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿƒ

EARTH PRACTICE ๐ŸŒฑ
Earth practice is all about bringing ourselves back down to earth, into the presant moment and out of our heads. This is a great one for anyone that struggles with feelings of anxiety, being overwhelmed, stressed or in the midst of change whether it be positive or negative.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Physically in earth practice we will be working with opening the hips. This is said in many cases to be a place that some of us store our emotional baggage. Whenever we have a stress reaction our fight or flight instincts kick in and sometimes results in tension of this area. If we do not process these emotion this energy can becomes stagnant preventing us from moving forward. So in working with this area with our asana, breath and visulisations we can help to restore the flow of energy.
You will notice that the practice also draws down towards the ground adding to the element of groundedness.

ROOT CHAKRA (Muladhara)
Earth practice is assosiated with the root chakra. This chakra point is the link between the physical world and our energetic system and is the base for our the energetic flow/ life force. If you hear the word Prana this refers to the energetic life force that runs through or bodies and our breath. This is the chakra point of our stability, security and our basic needs. This includes or basic needs in a material and emotional sense, feeling safe, secure and having our needs met. This chakra is located at the very base of the spine and is visulised as the colour red.

๐ŸŒฟWorking with the air practice physically we are back bending, opening up the chest and releasing tension from the neck and shoulders. This is a great flow for anyone that spends a lot of time at a desk, a computer or just generally hunched over. In life we tend to make ourselves small with a lot of Hunching, closing and create a lot of tension. This is an opportunity to counterbalance that! Open up, spread your wings and create space.

About the Water Element๐ŸŒŠ

๐ŸƒPhysically the water element is all about spinal mobility, working into the inner legs/groin (adductors) and opening up the side body.

SACRAL / SVADHISTHANA CHAKRA

๐ŸƒEnergetically the water element is assosiated with the sacral/svadhisthana chakra. This is the second of our chakra points (working up the body) and is located at the lower abdomen a few inches below the navel. This chakra is visulised as the colour orange.

๐ŸƒThe Sacral/Svadhisthana chakra is the center of our creativity, freedom, fun, self exploration and all things assosiated with pleasure and letting go of control. Ultimately sometimes we need to let go of control and feel completely spirit free.

๐ŸŒฟThis is the follow up information from my previous post. I am so excited to be coming back to teaching, even more so In the beautiful New studio created by the amazing Jacqueline Jaxxyoga . Classes will be focused on beginners, perfect for those looking to join their first class, for those coming back to their practice or simply looking for a slower pace and maybe coming back to basics.

Here is a wee bit about the class -

'One day or Day One, Your Decision!'
This introductory course is dynamic, detailed and exciting for anyone interested in beginning their journey with yoga. It is the perfect opportunity for current yoga students to refresh the basics and focus on alignment. Each class will begin with a focus on the breath before being taught to practice yoga with clarity, energy and confidence finishing with relaxation . This class can be booked as a 6 week course, drop in or part of a class pass. Fundamental yoga postures will be introduced In a friendly, welcoming and non judgemental environment.

Here is a wee insight into Paige-

Paige has been drawn to mind body practices from a young age, first beginning with meditation. Noticing the significant difference meditation brought to her life, body and mind this practice naturally developed towards yoga. Beginning practicing at home through DVD's and then whilst studying for her degree, Paige took the step towards her first In person yoga class and has never looked back. Paige remembers her first class fondly with the sense of finding something she connected with strongly. She went on to develop a regular practice, practicing vinyasa flow, forest yoga and yin yoga weekly. The more Paige dove into her practice the more she noticed the positive impact it had on her life and physical and mental wellbeing in addition to the personal changes in herself and her overall outlook.

With the desire to bring yoga more into her life Paige went on to complete her 200hr Vinyasa flow teacher training with Sasha Ezzi-Irani at Shanti Yoga in May 2018. Never with the intention to teach but to simply learn more and immerse herself more in the yogic world, however having loved yoga and her training so much she ultimately went on to teach. Continuing to learn and grow in December 2019 Paige went on to complete her yin yoga teacher train with Demelza Feltham.

What Paige loves most about teaching yoga is the sense of community and connection it can give us, bringing people together, creating a sense of awareness, support and understanding for each other and for ourselves. For years I have been interested in learning more about ayurveda and would ask friends for reading suggestions, trying to read little bits of information but never really commiting.
I have had this book in my collection since my yoga teacher training as a recommendation from my teacher but i never felt really ready to take it in and appreciate and absorb it until now.

๐ŸŒฟSince having covid the beginning of last year I have had so many health issues as many people now are, particularly with my thyroid, stomach and digestion and it has been a constant battle over the last year both physically and mentally. But this book has brought me back to my center, to the connection of mind/body, to remembering that you hold all the power within you and that nothing worth doing is an easy feat.

Through unbelievable effort, strength and perseverance my beautiful friend Jacqueline Jaxxyoga Jacqueline Murray has created a wonderful, beautiful and warming space. She is a force to be reckoned with and I am so excited and greatful to be part of that with her. A lot has changed since I last taught but over the years I have realised change means growth and I feel everything is now moving in the right direction. More details to follow ๐Ÿ™โค

Some much needed contact time with myself and nature has lead to a little bit more of ->>๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š.

A few months ago i stepped away from teaching during this chaotic time and admittedly my little hiatus has lasted a lot longer than expected ๐Ÿ™ˆ.
As with many of us during this time a lot in my life has changed, a lot of chapters closed and new ones opened. The time I have taken has not been in vein and has been greatly needed and appreciated. I still feel myself on unsteady ground, not sure what is going to happen not even 100% what I would like, but just feeling around for what feels right a listening to my heart ๐Ÿ’š.

I have spoken to a few people lately about the possibility of classes returning online. This is something I am thinking about as I do miss it very much but just trying to find the right course of action. I hope everyone is well staying safe and listening to their hearts in these uncertain times.
