Testimonials from parents wh

o have attended Tranquil Tots

I really enjoyed baby massage, my daughter loved getting her legs massaged and it became part of her bedtime routine, creating a lovely bond between us. It is a delight to see my little bundle of joy all rosy cheeked and giving me looks of absolute love after the massage. The techniques learnt have helped him to sleep through the night

Baby massage has been so beneficial, not only for my baby but for my older child who loves getting a massage too. Baby Massage Classes , 121 Home Visits, DVD, Skype Sessions. Tranquil Tots DVD £10.95 plus £2.00 postage and packaging. DVD Pre-Launch Reviews

I found this to be a very special and professional DVD and I could see that the baby was relaxed and happy. I wish this DVD could have been available when my daughter was born 12 years ago. This is a dad's review. I attended Nicola's baby massage class with my first child and now as a second time mum I was asked to review the Tranquil Tots DVD. This DVD reminded me of the techniques to use which helped with colic, teething and constipation. I instantly felt relaxed and calm watching the DVD and it reminded me of my special time massaging my baby boy. I treated myself to the DVD so I could follow the routine again and create special moments with my new daughter. Running time 23 Mins

After nearly 18 years of running Tranquil Tots Baby Massage classes it is time to say thank you to everyone who has attended over the years and to those who I worked in partnership with.

Time for a change for me so there will no longer be classes. However I will be available for 121 evening sessions and advice to help with common baby ailments if needed on request. I may not respond immediately but I will get back to you.

This has been a hard decision but the time has come for me to do something new.

The friendships I have seen forming over the years have made me smile. It is so nice to hear that parents are still in touch years later.

Thanks again everyone who has supported my business since 2005.

Lots of love

Nicola. 👣

Hello 👋 and thanks to everyone who has followed my new page.

Thought a wee introduction might be useful for anyone new here…

I’m Wendy, Owner and creator of the Wholecore Program which I’ve dedicated this account to.

I’m a Mum of two wonderful young humans, Braeden 14 and Scarlett almost 13. As well as running my business, I also home educate both my children which we just started this term.

I have been a PT for 24 years, coached and managed my own clubs and worked with Mums since having my children 14 years ago.

My career with Mums started with the Buggyfit franchise which allowed a lot of flexibility being a new Mum (both came to my classes for the first 3 years 😁) It was only early this year I decided to make the full transition to invest my time fully into She Restores.

6 years ago I decided to deepen my training and knowledge in post natal care, specifically in the rehabilitation in Mums core & pelvic floor. Still a very misunderstood and under served area of Women’s health and within the Fitness Industry in general.

So that’s really how Wholecore was born and it’s honestly a Program that I am hugely proud of and that is constantly evolving to give Mums the very best understanding of their post natal bodies.

I’m also married to John, a Project Manager and expert of all things Audio Visual (just as well as I can barely switch on the telly) and Mum to fur baby Gino, our crazy cockapoo pup.

When I’m not geeking out in a book or online on post natal matters 🤓 I will be off hiking, hanging out with the kids, scrolling Pinterest or enjoying a glass of fizz or two with friends 😜🥂🍾

I have lots more stories of Motherhood to share but for now, that’s a little bit about me 💗

I’d also love to know a little something about you! What you’re into, what you love and how many babas you have 💗👇🏻

I’ve done countless posts on the ins and outs of what diastasis is but this post is mostly about what you can do about it!

💗 Firstly, you are not alone. This is a condition most women encounter. Some may not even be aware.

💗 The are lots of ‘do’s & Don’t’s’ around it but essentially it’s something that can be addressed with the right approach (try not to fall into fear mode).

💗 Please don’t google ‘exercises to heal Diastasis’ there is so much rubbish out there. Trust me, I just googled it to see and it’s dreadful 😫

💗 Focus on the things you can do. Whether that’s booking a physio appointment or working with a knowledgable coach (hey there 👋)

💗 Remember that all bodies are different and heal at a different pace - there is no specific timeline to this, the journey is not linear.

💗 Definitely invest time and money in your recovery. It amazes me how much people invest in luxury items or diet plans but when it comes to something restorative there’s a real block!

💗 Remember there is no such thing as a quick fix, rushing back to intense exercise for the wrong reasons can really slow down progress. It’s patience and baby steps.

💗 in most cases restorative, corrective exercise snd lifestyle changes are enough to restore Diastasis - surgery is rarely required.

💗Simple things like how you lift baby, prams & caraways etc can make a big difference in strengthening and protecting your core as it heals. Think squat/deadlift type movement patterns when bending/lifting and exhaling on the lifting part. It’s all about controlling pressure!

I cover all of this and much more on my programs, but do get in touch if something is bothering you and I’ll be happy to answer 💕

We had a lovely morning at Lollypop land and met some lovely new mums. Hope you had fun mamas. If you want to join a meet up please come along. Don't be nervous. It's a nice relaxed way to meet new mums and for the kids to have a play/run about. Me and Ruby will be there every Tuesday and you don't need to commit to every week. I adore these candles.

Sorry I’ve been so quiet on here. Summer holidays and a few weekend markets havestolen all my time! Anyway, school is back next week and the routines will start again. Although I’m not looking forward to hearing the early alarm calls again. It’s been great having a few weeks of sunshine and not rushing around so much. Also ….. I have a new employee to introduce to to next week, watch this space. 😊 But for now I’m off to make a list of all the Autunm/Winter oils I need to buy. It’s hard to think of winter spice when it’s 27° 🤣

W H E N I S I T S A F E T O R U N A N D O
H I I T T R A I N I N G A G A I N P O S T B A B Y??

Childbirth shows just how strong, powerful and capable the female body is.

Your body is awesome Mama! 💪🏽

Our body has a huge ability to heal and it will but…..pregnancy, labour and delivery does cause trauma to our tissues.

As I’m always saying, your previous fitness may help you feel stronger as you heal but you still need to heal.

Your body still needs something different right now….

When we run or do some very high impact activity, we put around 2.5 - 3 times our body weight through our limbs. Core strength and stability is crucial to supporting us adequately through this activity. So if there is a C-Section wound, Diastasis or even just general core weakness due to stretching abs postural changes,

That’s a lot to deal with.

At 6 weeks post natal (C-Section) our core has just 50% of its usual tensility so it is probably a little too early to be getting back to running…..

Even if-

Your wound is healing well and vaginal bleeding has stopped - markers that are often used when gauging your readiness to return to high impact.

Best approach?

💗 Rest

💗 breath work (promotes healing & connection to muscles)

💗 Eating well, lots of protein & collagen

💗 Core rehab starting with breath work from around 8 weeks

💗 Learning how to build back up to impact safely

💗 A program that loads and progresses you at just the right level for YOUR journey…

Don’t forget that your post natal fitness journey should be just as unique as you! 💓
