Heads up for anyone on the therapeutic insight journey .
At 80 , Yalom is one of the greatest ever living psychotherapists ; and my hero . As a therapist myself I love how he fesses up to having learned as much from his patients than they ever learned from him .
Ditto . It’s a two way healing for sure !
This traces his life as a poor Jewish immigrant , through the challenges of living , his marriage which he openly shares about - warts and all , and the terminal illness of his wife .
He shares on his life after loss , and his ongoing examination & exploration of himself as he faces his own mortality .
He is a great writer . Honest , raw and real .
I’ll be needing a third read in case I tuned out on the tricky bits 🙃😯
