Ever had a week where you think,
“Is this perimenopause… or do I just need a nap and a lie down?”

Don't worry, you’re not losing the plot...

Most of us were never taught what to look out for, so when things start to feel different, it’s easy to second-guess yourself or jump straight to worry.

If you’d like help keeping track (without turning it into a full-time job), I’ve made a free menopause symptom tracker that I use with clients all the time.

Comment TRACKER or grab it via the link in my bio 💛

let's all try to snack MORE...

I often suggest movement snacks to my menopause clients, little bits of movement woven into everyday life rather than one big workout you have to plan, prep for and recover from.

A wall sit while you brush your teeth.
A few wall push-ups while the kettle’s boiling.
Some lunges while the potatoes are on.
run up the stairs while waiting for a call.

Nothing fancy. Nothing exhausting.
Just small, doable moments.

During perimenopause and menopause, this kind of gentle consistency can really help, supporting strength, energy, mood and blood sugar without adding more stress to your day.

You’re not failing if long workouts don’t fit right now.
This still counts.

The fear of what to work towards next year can be overwhelming so instead bathe in the warmth of what you did this year and next year take 1 step forward don’t get caught up in where your not at. If you take one step at a time you will get there ###

Weight in menopause is funny.
Not funny-haha. Just… confusing 😵‍💫

Eating less doesn’t seem to help.
Skipping meals makes things worse.
And pushing harder just feels exhausting.

What does seem to make a difference is steadier days.
Regular eating.
Familiar meals.
Keeping blood sugars calm.
Letting the body settle a bit instead of constantly asking it to change.

Nothing dramatic.
Nothing extreme.
Just nourishing properly and giving hormones and digestion a bit of support and time.

I’ve pulled everything into a free Nourish & Flourish Weight Management Guide, the why and the how, in one place

Anyone else feeling absolutely knackered after the chaos of Christmas?

I love it, but it really does take it out of you.

And now we’re in that weird in-between bit.
Not quite knowing what to do with ourselves.
No distractions.
And the symptoms feel at an all-time high 🙃

Menopause isn’t a life sentence, even if it can feel that way sometimes ☀️

Christmas has been feeling a lot more like a month-long to-do list than a celebration recently.

The pressure for it to be perfect, the prepping, the constant thinking, it’s a lot. Especially when you keep forgetting what you walked into a room for!

You’re allowed to simplify. You’re allowed to skip bits. You’re allowed to rest.

This season doesn’t need to look perfect to be enough.

Wishing you a very merry Christmas, however it looks 🎄

Perimenopause hit me in my early 40s and I honestly didn’t know what was going on. I was working more than full time, juggling the kids, trying to keep all the plates spinning and feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and not quite like myself anymore.

The tests came back fine (of course they did 🙃), but I knew there was more to it.

As a dietitian, once I understood what was really happening, I stopped blaming myself. I changed how I worked, looked after my mental health properly, and slowly rebuilt my relationship with my body and that’s what now allows me to support other women through this stage too.

If midlife is feeling a bit confusing, unsettling, or just off, you’re definitely not alone.
Follow along and learn with me, and as always, any questions, just ask 💛

A lot of my clients feel constantly bloated or constipated during perimenopause,
and the first thing they blame is carbs.

But I can tell you, it’s rarely the carbs themselves. It’s how we eat them.

It's normally because they are eating carbs with little to nothing else with it - things like bread and butter, pasta and pesto.

These types of meals are digested too fast.
Your blood sugar jumps, then crashes,
And when your blood sugar crashes, your body releases stress hormones - which actually slow your digestion down.
Food sits in your gut longer,
and that’s when the bloating and constipation get worse

That’s what I mean by “naked carbs.”

When you dress your carbs
(with protein, fibre, colour, or healthy fats),
it takes you longer to digest them.
and so, our blood sugar stays steady.
which means your gut keeps moving.

It is never about cutting foods out,
It’s about learning what can support you during this time.

Save this for the next time you're so bloated you could fly away

Tell me why December turn into a performance review for women?
We end up running Christmas, the house, the emotions, the food, and the mental load, while dealing with symptoms anyone else would rightfully go insane over.

If you’re tired, overwhelmed, itchy, emotional, overstretched or just done, you’re not failing, you’re human!

and protecting your energy isn’t selfish.

What’s one thing you’re NOT doing this year?

The internet loves to make midlife sound like a military operation, doesn’t it?
As if your entire hormonal system can be “fixed” by willpower, 14 rules, and a protein shake the size of your head.

But starting feeling like yourself again doesn’t come from doing 110 things perfectly.
It comes from doing a couple of the right things consistently.

If you’re tired of guessing, Googling, and guilt-tripping yourself into exhaustion, comment NOURISH and I’ll send you something actually helpful.

Try this if you find it difficult to get back to sleep 😴 during the night. I swear it works ###x

Christmas magic is everywhere… yet many of us haven’t had a proper night’s sleep since 2020.

For plenty of us, December isn’t twinkly.

It’s loud, demanding, tiring, and a bit overwhelming.
So if your festive wish list is just “feel good again”, you’re in very good company.

We’ll crawl through the month together.

Tell me in one word how you feel about Christmas this year: excited, numb, dreading it, or somewhere in between?
