At Meridian, we believe in a holistic approach to wellbeing, with offerings extended out to shamanic healing, reiki, shamanic journeying circles and sound baths. Our Values

Embodied Teaching is a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, held at Meridian Yoga and Pilates in the East End of Glasgow – led by Michelle Lang with the support of expert guest teachers: Lorraine Livingstone, Gillian Campbell, Tally Kerr and Victoria Cunningham.

It’s designed for committed yoga practitioners, who want to develop an authentic teaching style which is grounded, inclusive, and supportive. This training balances practical teaching skills with theory, self-inquiry, and embodied learning.

Sunday Night Yin
4-week pilot | 22 March – 12 April

Our Sunday Night Yin class is an invitation to slow down, soften and close the weekend in peaceful surrender, creating space to reset for the week ahead.

In keeping with our no-one-size-fits-all approach, we explore Yin shapes in a functional way, offering options, adaptations and support from props so that each person can find what works best for their body.

The class will close with a guided relaxation, leaving you feeling grounded, rested and ready for the week ahead.

Sunrise for Gaza: Yoga for Hope & Healing
Sunday 26 April • 2–4 p.m.

Join .yogaglasgow and for a two-hour donation-based yoga session. There is no ceasfire in Gaza. Show support to children affected by the ongoing ethnic cleansing, by coming together in solidarity to flow through breathwork, slow vinyasa, yin, and a short meditation, creating space for calm, presence, and healing.

All donations go to Children Not Numbers, a charity providing life-saving medical care, trauma support, and advocacy for children in crisis.

🍉 Suggested donation: £10–£50 — give what you can.

Tight hamstrings are super common — especially if you sit a lot, run, cycle, or lift weights. When they’re stiff, they can contribute to lower back tension, restricted hip movement, and even knee discomfort.

Holding poses for a few minutes in yin yoga gently hydrates the fascia and allows the muscles to truly unwind — improving flexibility, posture, and overall mobility without forcing the stretch.

Think less “pull” and more “melt.” Slow down and find space all across the back line of your body.

If you sit a lot, lift weights, run, or carry stress in your lower body then you might find you have tight glutes 🙋

This can contribute to lower back pain, hip discomfort, and limited mobility.

When you gently stretch and hydrate these muscles, you can improve circulation, support better posture, and create more ease in everyday movement.

Yin gives your body time to truly let go — holding each pose for a few minutes allows the deeper connective tissues to soften and release.

This is not a quick-fix teacher training.

Our Embodied Teaching 200-hour YTT runs over 12 months for a reason:

Integration. Confidence. Depth.

From functional anatomy and biomechanics to trauma-informed teaching, philosophy, inclusive language, sequencing with intention, assists and the business of yoga – this training is intended to develop thoughtful, skilled, embodied teachers.

You’ll also complete 40 hours of integrated teaching to build your confidence and prepare you for real life classes.

Open to those who feel called to teach and to anyone ready to deepen their relationship with yoga.

Our studio is available to hire for workshops, well being events and retreats.

Two studio spaces available:

Yang Studio - up to 18 mats
£35 per hour plus VAT or £130 plus VAT for 4 hours

Yin Studio - 8-10 mats
£20 per hour plus VAT

Please note:

●Not available for weekly yoga or Pilates classes (membership conflict)
●Studio hire is self managed with your own marketing and booking system

Neck and shoulder stiffness usually isn’t caused by just one area. It often relates to how the shoulder, shoulder blade, and upper back move and function together.

Try this sequence if your neck and shoulders feel tight (Remember to do both sides!)

Seated Cat & Cow with Cactus Arms

Promotes spinal mobility through flexion and extension, loosening the thoracic spine and shoulders so the neck doesn’t have to overcompensate.

Lateral Neck Release

Gently stretches the side muscles of the neck and shoulder girdle, helping reduce tension and improve neck range of motion

Eagle Arms

Opens and stretches the muscles around the shoulder blades and upper back, supporting better shoulder mobility and releasing stuck tension across the upper body.

Hand Behind Head Thoracic Rotations

Improves thoracic (upper back) rotation, reducing strain on the neck and shoulders that comes from a stiff upper spine.

Shoulder Rotations

Improves shoulder joint mobility and increases range of motion

Thread the Needle

Targets thoracic rotation and stretches the upper back and shoulder blade region, which can reduce tension in the neck and shoulders
