Our Meallmore Whisky Label Competition 2026 has officially reached the most exciting stage… It’s time for YOU to choose the winner! 🏆

To celebrate Father’s Day, residents, colleagues and our wider community rolled up their sleeves, got creative and helped design the look of this year’s limited‑edition Meallmore Whisky. The response?

After much admiration (and a lot of “this one’s brilliant too!”), We’ve shortlisted five fantastic finalists, and now the final decision is over to our community.

Our residents enjoyed a calming and restorative relaxation class led by our lovely colleague Michelle 💛

The session created a peaceful atmosphere, giving everyone the chance to unwind, focus on gentle breathing and enjoy a moment of quiet together 😊

Our residents enjoyed some relaxing time with adult colouring books, taking the opportunity to unwind, focus and get creative 🎨✨

Colouring is a lovely way to enjoy a moment of calm, spark conversation and express creativity, all while spending time together in a relaxed atmosphere 😊

🍛👨‍🍳 Cooking Up Something Special at The Oaks! 👨‍🍳🍛

Our resident David treated everyone to a delicious homemade curry, and it was an absolute hit!

There was a wonderful buzz in the home as David got busy in the kitchen, sharing his skills and creating a meal for everyone to enjoy.

It’s always so special when residents can showcase their talents and bring people together through food 😊

A lovely day filled with great flavours, conversation and a real sense of togetherness well done, David! 👏

🎨 Design the Meallmore Whisky Label 2026 🥃

Last year, a resident named John painted a sunrise.

That painting became our whisky label.
Over 500 people voted for it.
And today, that bottle tells a story - of creativity, community and connection.

Sadly, John passed away in the summer of 2025, but his artwork lives on. His label, Leven Sunrise, is now part of Meallmore history and a reminder of why we run this competition every year.

💙 Promoting Health & Awareness at The Oaks 💙

Our colleague Marie, one of our dedicated staff nurses, recently organised a Prostate Cancer Awareness Talk as part of our new health promotion initiative here at The Oaks.

The session was informative, supportive and greatly appreciated by those who attended. We’re proud to be creating opportunities to share valuable health information and encourage open conversations within our home 😊💛

A big thank you to Marie for taking the lead and helping us continue to promote wellbeing for our residents and community.

Resident Gary spent some time in the kitchen preparing his favourite dish - a delicious chow mein! He really enjoyed getting stuck in, choosing his ingredients and taking pride in making a meal he loves 😊✨

Our residents have been getting creative during our arts and crafts session here at The Oaks! From choosing colours to adding their own unique touches, it was a lovely afternoon filled with imagination, concentration and plenty of smiles.

Activities like this bring relaxation, joy and a wonderful sense of achievement - and we love seeing everyone express themselves through their artwork 😊✨

Resident Gemma has had a wonderfully active time recently - and as always, she’s keen to get involved in every new activity that comes her way 💛

🎲 Snakes and Ladders at The Oaks
Gemma enjoyed a fun and friendly game of snakes and ladders, sharing laughs and light‑hearted competition with others.

🪑 Chair Yoga in the Local Community
She also took part in a gentle chair yoga session in the community, supporting wellbeing, movement and relaxation.

We love seeing Gemma’s enthusiasm - she brings such positivity and energy to The Oaks! 😊✨
