🩺 Hip & Knee Replacement CPD Evening

What an evening! Last week at Hotel du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens, we welcomed GPs and healthcare professionals for a packed CPD session on hip and knee replacement surgery.

The event was organised by our Healthcare Account Manager, with presentations from Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons Mr Stuart Bell and Mr Nick Ohly, along with Senior Physiotherapist Andrew Walker.

The session covered hip and knee replacement surgery, robotic‑assisted techniques, when different approaches may be suitable and what patients can expect before and after surgery.

We had excellent engagement throughout the evening and received very positive feedback from attendees. Thank you to everyone who joined us! 🙌💚

A Great Evening of Women’s Health CPD 💜

Last week, we welcomed GPs and other primary care colleagues to our Women’s Health CPD Education Event at Hotel du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens.

Our expert speakers, Dr Catriona Hardie, Consultant Gynaecologist and Dr Veenu Tyagi, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist delivered informative sessions covering:

Meet our new consultant! 👋

We are delighted to introduce Mrs Margaret MacLean, Consultant Breast Surgeon, who has joined our specialist team.

With over 15 years as a Consultant Breast Surgeon in the NHS and practising since 1996, she brings extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of breast conditions.

Her areas of expertise include:

🔍 Investigation and management of benign and malignant breast disease
🩺 Breast cancer surgery and oncoplastic techniques
🛡️ Screening for high-risk patients
👩‍⚕️ Management of gynaecomastia

Mrs MacLean graduated from Cambridge and Edinburgh Universities and was awarded her MD thesis for research on sentinel node biopsy in breast cancer.

✨ What an incredible day at the Scottish Optical Conference (SOC) 2025!

On Sunday, we proudly represented our Glasgow and Edinburgh hospitals as a Gold Sponsor at SOC 2025, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow.

On Wednesday, we welcomed GPs to an evening of learning and hands-on experience, exploring how robotic technology is helping improve care for people living with 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 and 𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬.

The session included expert insights from 𝐌𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and 𝐋𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐬 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐲 from stryker, along with a demonstration of the 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐨 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜-𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 🤖

Held at Hotel du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens, the event offered a great opportunity for discussion, learning and collaboration around the assessment and treatment of knee pain, including robotic-assisted surgical options.

Last week, some of our senior clinical team welcomed two representatives from the 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 to our hospital.

The RCN team set up a stand filled with resources, membership information and some freebies, giving our colleagues the chance to learn more about how RCN supports nurses across Scotland and the benefits of joining.

It was great that lots of colleagues stopped by to engage and find out more 🙌💬
