What is subhealth

Have you ever felt inexplicably tired or cranky? Has it been a while since you’ve felt 100% healthy? You may be experiencing a condition that spans the gap between health and illness: sub-health.

People who are sub-healthy do not present any medical abnormalities, but they may experience any combination of the following symptoms: anxiety, moodiness, frequent headaches, indigestion (cramps, bloatedness, IBS, irregular bowel movement, etc.), constant tiredness/fatigue, nausea, weaker memory, difficulty focusing, and general discomfort that is persistent but not enough to be diagnosed as an illness. Runner 48 - Piriformis, achilles, tight calves, tight hamstrings, L5 / S1 bulging disc

One year after the covid pandemic started I went from being extremely active to a couch potato. Around this time I developed L5/S1 bulging disc which had me ooing and aahing with every walking step with the pain. I had to sleep on the floor downstairs because I wasn't able to walk up or down stairs and even if I did go to bed it took two people to help me out of it. After 2 sessions of acupuncture twice a week for 6 weeks with Dr Zheng my back was back to normal and six years on I haven't had a day's trouble with it since. At the time I feared I would end up in a wheelchair. I'm an avid runner and run for an athletics club but just lately I've had an achilles injury and I had been continuing to apply deep heat and run on it through the pain but the pain just wasn't shifting after a few months. My running times were falling too because I didn't have the same power in the toe-off. After only 3 acupuncture sessions my achilles feels a million times better and my piriformis feels great now too. You suffer on with these ailments for so long they begin to feel normal and it's not until Dr Zheng fixed mine that I realised what it's supposed to feel like. I just don't trust physiotherapists doing dry needling since they haven't put in the years of training that TCM practitioners have and can end up doing more harm than good...nerve damage being one. Dr Zheng took time with me to get to the root cause of my issues and he's top notch at that. He always makes a great job of fixing me when i'm broken and to him I am indebted. He is my go to Dr for all my aches and pains and sound health advice that works a treat for me every time ! Thank you Dr Zheng.
