Scotland in Union

Scotland in Union We are a non-party movement which unites people around a positive view of Scotland in the UK. We are a non-party, not-for-profit movement.

Promoted by Scotland in Union: Office 2/3, 2nd Floor, 48 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 1BP. We have supporters from all points on the political spectrum, and many diverse views about how to improve life in the UK and in Scotland. We all believe that staying together is in the interests of the people of Scotland, the people in the rest of the UK, and the world more generally. We believe the 2014

Referendum result was decisive, and that we need to move on together: together in Scotland, and together within the United Kingdom. We believe that bringing Scotland together after the Referendum must be accompanied by bringing the UK together. We believe political debate should be about policies, not powers; we want energy focused on people, not posturing. We believe we should start from where we are now, and move on positively. We do not want politicians wasting time on constitutional distractions when they could be working to improve lives in their constituencies and across the country

Our main focus is long term, to inform people about the UK and to help them understand the Scottish political situation. We plan, organise and support varied projects which are aligned with our overall aims.

Operation Branchform has reportedly cost taxpayers almost £2.7 million.

Meanwhile, Peter Murrell has admitted guilt in court over embezzling SNP funds raised for independence campaigning.

A hefty custodial sentence is almost certain after the former SNP chief executive embezzled £400,000 from the party.

Tactical voting remains a valid way to reduce SNP seats and to elect politicians who care about pressing day-to-day issues rather than obsessing about trying to break the UK apart.

With upcoming Westminster by-elections, people who want to stop nationalism in Scotland need to use votes effectively.

THE SNP was hit hardest as one in five Scots opted to vote tactically at the Holyrood election, polling has revealed. Around 500,000 people decided to back the local candidate best-placed to defeat…

However John Swinney tries to position this partisan move, the only motivations revealed are arrogance and self-interest. Only this week polling made clear Scots do not regard independence as a priority in any way, shape or form.

They want a government focused on health, education and the economy. This is a deeply disappointing move by a First Minister who has no intention of representing or governing for the whole of Scotland.

Despite just one in Scots believing that Scottish independence should be a priority for the new/old Scottish Government - the First Minister is ensuring the first debate of the new session is about Scexit.

This poll, carried out in the wake of the election, makes clear that most people do not think another referendum should be a priority in any way, shape or form.

They want to see ministers who focus on the cost-of-living crisis, health and the economy. And they cite a whole range of other topics which are more important – including education, justice and housing.

What’s more, they believe that the SNP must stop spending public money on their obsession with leaving the UK. As Mr Swinney prepares to retake the First Minister’s chair, he should respect Scots' wishes and pause his divisive attempts to break the UK apart.

The NHS, the economy, and the cost of living are all ranked as greater priorities for voters than an IndyRef2, according to a new poll.

Before John Swinney embarks on another five years of separatist tub-thumping, he should take note of people’s priorities.

ONLY ten per cent of Scots want John Swinney to make independence a priority, a new poll has revealed. Respondents to the post-election survey said the SNP chief must put the cost-of-living crisis,…

John Swinney has predictably used his first day after the election result to push his nationalist agenda.

But Scots don’t agree, and polling repeatedly shows there are many other areas they regard as far more important.

However Mr Swinney tries to spin the election results, it would be inexcusable to plunge us into yet more constitutional chaos.

If the SNP is to govern for everyone for the next five years, it must park talk of the constitution and instead – for the first time in two decades – prioritise health, education and the economy.
