Big news — we’ve got a new look!
Our updated logo marks the start of another exciting year ahead.

For 2025–26, GUEMS will return with our student led simulation programme, undergraduate conference, and more events for anyone curious about emergency medicine

Committee announcements are coming soon — we’ll be looking for a couple more people to join the team later in the year, so stay tuned for updates on how to apply.

We hope you’ve all had a brilliant summer, whether you’ve been travelling, relaxing, or on elective. If you’re starting as a first year this September, we can’t wait to meet you! You’ll find us at the Medics’ Fresher event in Week 1 — details coming soon.

Our AGM will be held on the 16th of June at 7:30pm in JMS Room 734. Nominations for next year's committee are now open, the nomination form link can be found in our bio.

Hello all!

The GU Gastroenterology & Emergency Med societies are running a Mock OSCE for Year 3s and we’re currently recruiting volunteers to help make it a success.

We’d love to have you on board as an OSCE examiner, a simulated patient (SP), or even both!

All examiners and SPs will receive a certificate of participation. Your help is hugely appreciated and will contribute to a valuable learning experience for everyone involved.

Session Options:

Session 1: 0900 - 1100

Session 2: 1100 - 1300

Please note volunteers would need to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of their first session.

Thank you to everyone who attended the 14th National Undergraduate Emergency Medicine Conference. It was great to see so many attendees from across Scotland.

We would like to thank our sponsors, the MDU and Geeky Medics, for providing our abstract prizes. We would also like to thank the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and tunnocks for providing some fab merch.

Thank you to all our speakers, poster presenters and workshop facilitators for making the event possible. Huge congrats to Haya and Minnie for winning our abstract prizes.

We can't wait to see you all again next year.

We are running our annual conference on the 26th of April at the University of Glasgow. The conference will comprise of talks about emergency medicine, some exciting workshops and simulations followed by a social in the West End.

Abstracts

We are also accepting abstract submissions, so if you have any SSC, intercal or elective projects, submit an abstract and get the opportunity to present at a national conference. We also have some great prizes:

Top abstract will win £50
The second best abstract will win a year free access to the Geeky Medics ABG, blood tests and ECG question bank.
