It never fails to amaze me how time can pass so quickly if you're not paying attention. Somehow It's one week to the day since we recorded a few live tracks at the cottage on Loch Fyne.
Since then we have obviously had Christmas eve, Christmas day, boxing day and all the different occasions and celebrations that fall into that space.
With all the breaths in-between I've been working my way through mixes from the cottage. Editing videos, tinkering with EQ and compression like a mad scientist. I'm not a fan of sitting still, perhaps to my own detriment, time will tell.
I have found and felt over this last week waves of countless emotions which has been fascinating and exhausting in equal measures. I know I won't be alone in that, it's a human condition to feel we are perhaps.
Anyway, what I do feel when I think about that recording session is just joy and gratitude. Being aware that in that busy time, with everything juggling chaotic life balls while walking a tightrope, all 4 of us had a fu***ng excellent time together. Cooking for each other (mainly John and Gordy), drinking and talking pish until the sun threatened to come round once more.
I feel grateful. (And fu***ng exhausted)
When this session is released I'll also feel pride (and perhaps more exhaustion)
