David was leaving for work at 7.50am this morning so I made a last minute decision to jump out for a run just before 7am.

Sundays dont feel right if ive not been out a morning run...πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Anyway I thought my planned route was anout 50 minutes and I would make it back just in time.
Stopped in Bothwell to take a photo of a lovely wee deer and realised it was 7.35 and I was still miles away πŸ˜†

The last 3k were kind of flat out and then I had to face a massive hill back up to the house with legs like jelly.
Not exactly a chilled morning run!!

Got home at 7.57 and he was still fully under the covers and not one bit bothered!

National Swimmer Allanah working on her back squats this morning as part of her session.

For a swimmer, squats are essential for building explosive power. This translates into faster starts and more force against the wall in turns.

Stronger quads and glutes also improve kick stregnth and bolster the knees against common injuries caused by the repetitive movements in the water.

We are working on increasing her depth before adding any more weight to the bar.
Progressing very nicely!

Morning!

Two simple things that can massively slow down fat loss results.

It is FAR easier to eat 1000 calories than it is to burn them.

Be mindful of 'eating back' all the extra calories that your fit bit is saying you have burned.
These can be quite inaccurate!

Creating and maintaining a modest deficit is the best way to ensure consistent results.

Sunday steps in the sunshine 🌞

Today we tried 'Meikle Bin' which is in the Campsie fells.

This took just under 3 hours and was a perfect beginners hike. A gradual gradient with pretty cheeky final climb to the top!

One of my favourite things about it was how calm and peaceful it was.
We saw about 10-15 other people the whole time.

Beautiful views.
