Healing for the Heart

Healing for the Heart Healing for the Heart provides a range of counselling and inner healing options tailor made for you.

Healing for the Heart is a community based mental health service. We provide a safe space in which to deal with the effect which life events have had on an individual. Our counselling service, offers 1:1 sessions with a trained counsellor. We use an integrative approach which is tailor made to the needs of the client, drawing on person centred, psychodynamic and CBT techniques. Many of our counsellors are experienced in working with complex trauma and we are happy to discuss this if this with you if it is something that you wish to pursue. Saorsa is our inner healing service which offers a prayer based ministry. Saorsa (pronounced 'Soor-suh') is the Gaelic word for 'Freedom, liberty, redemption' and our Saorsa service offers just this from the perspective of a Christian world-view. Saorsa is not a counselling service and appointments are offered by trained, volunteer facilitators. Made 4 More is our supported volunteering project which helps people to re-establish meaningful connections which may have been affected by emotional or mental health issues. Volunteers join us for a 12 week group programme which helps them to pursue individual goals and targets.

🌬️ 3-Breath Reset

You don’t need a long break to reset — sometimes three breaths are enough.

🌬️ Breath 1: arriving in this moment
🌬️ Breath 2: softening what you can
🌬️ Breath 3: gently re-engaging

There’s no “right” way to breathe. Just meet yourself where you are.
Try this if it feels supportive today and take care of yourself this second full week of January 💪

🧘 1-Minute Noticing Pause

Feeling overwhelmed? Let’s pause for one minute.

Wherever you are, gently notice:
👀 one thing you can see
👂 one thing you can hear
💭 one thing you can feel in your body

You don’t need to feel calm.
You don’t need to change anything.
Just notice what’s already here.

Try this if it feels right for you — and save it for later when things feel heavy in this long winter month ✌️

✨ Wisdom Wednesday ✨

We are back for our first WW of 2026!

Joy doesn’t always arrive on schedule or make logical sense. Sometimes it slips in quietly, unannounced, in the middle of ordinary moments. When it does, let it stay. Receive it without guilt, without overthinking, without rushing past it.

Joy is not a distraction from real life—it’s a reminder of what makes life whole. 💛

In January, we’re often encouraged to think about our physical workout routines.
Here at Healing for the Heart, we’re focusing on how we can work out our minds 💚

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing short, gentle mindfulness practices to help you pause and check in with yourself.

No pressure. No fixing.
Take what helps, leave what doesn’t.

We’ll be posting one wellbeing workout each week — try it if it feels right for you.
Talking support is always available via the link in our bio 🤍

“Peace is born in hidden places.” 🌿

Just like Jesus came quietly in a stable, the truest peace often arrives softly—in still moments, unseen corners, and gentle acts of love. 🌟

✨ 12 Days of Wellness: Day 11 ✨

Today’s theme is “Caring Connections.” 💛🎄

This season isn’t easy for everyone — and sometimes the smallest check-ins can make the biggest difference. A simple message, a warm voice note, or dropping off a treat can remind someone they’re not alone.

Here are a few gentle ways to show care:
• Send a “thinking of you” text.
• Invite someone for a short walk or warm drink.
• Ask, “How can I support you this week?”
• Share a comforting memory or photo.
• Offer company for errands or appointments.

Love doesn’t need to be grand — just genuine. Your presence, your kindness, and your attention can mean more than you know. ✨

✨ Winter Solstice ✨

Tonight marks the longest night of the year — a moment when the darkness settles deeply, yet also the turning point toward the return of the light. 🌙❄️

If this season has felt heavy or exhausting, let the solstice remind you:
you have survived every dark night so far.
You are still here.
And brighter days are on their way.

From this point forward, the light grows — slowly, gently, steadily. Just like healing. Just like hope.

Here’s to finding warmth in the darkness, strength in the quiet, and comfort in knowing that the days ahead will shine a little brighter. 🌅✨

✨ 12 Days of Wellness: Day 10 ✨

Today’s theme is “Hope & Light.” 🌟

If this season feels heavy, remember that hope doesn’t have to be big or bright — it can be small, quiet, and steady. Hope reminds us of the possibilities of what could be. A tiny spark is still light. A soft beginning is still forward.

Let today be a reminder that even in difficult seasons, there are glimmers worth holding onto: a kind word, a warm sunrise, a moment of calm, a feeling that things can shift.

Your light doesn’t need to shine loudly to matter. 💛✨

✨ Wisdom Wednesday ✨

“The true measure of success is a calm nervous system.” 🌿

Success isn’t just about achievements, titles, or checking boxes—it’s about how you feel while moving through life.

In this busy season, seek to bring your body and mind in to alignment through deep breathing and making mindful choices to ground yourself in to the present.

Prioritise the practices that bring you back to centre: rest, boundaries, breath, stillness, joy.

Because a regulated nervous system isn’t a luxury—it's the foundation of real success.
