Julie Kinsella Accredited KCR Practitioner and Certified KCR Instructor

Julie Kinsella Accredited KCR Practitioner and Certified KCR Instructor Realign and Revive is a company providing KCR within Easterhouse, Glasgow. This page is a sister page to Realign and Revive.

RnR is a provider of complementary therapies within the North Lanarkshire area of Scotland. KCR can be provided with other therapies but is a wonderful therapy on its own. This page is here to discuss and share stories about Kinetic Chain Release (KCR). This is a stand alone therapy which can help alleviate pain and discomfort with a very gentle set of mobilisations and stretches which may take from 40-60 minutes to perform depending on extent of issues and blockages within the body. Kinetic Chain Release was founded by Hugh Gilbert (PT) and is taught only by Hugh at this time. If you want to learn how to provide KCR then contact Hugh via www.kineticchainrelease.com or visit his page Kinetic Chain Release.

So this is one of the big behind the scenes projects I have been working on recently.

My availability will be changing over the next few weeks to allow set days for teaching and for treatments.

I will announce the new training and treatment schedule by the end of the week.

The Psoas muscle is the last muscle we release during a KCR session but did you know how fascinating this muscle is...

Here's a few little interesting points about the Psoas...

❤️ We use the Psoas (and Iliacus) to lift our knees.

❤️ When the Psoas is tight/ restricted it can cause pain just above your coccyx.

❤️ In traditional Chinese philosophy the Psoas stores the soul.

❤️ In Western medicine it has been linked to the "fight, flight, freeze, fawn" response. Chronic stress can cause it to tighten.

❤️ It's is used for stability and crosses between the torso and legs. (Although classed as a back muscle.)

If any of these fact make you think of that's me then get your KCR appointment booked asap.

There is still time to secure your place on my next "Introduction to Connective Tissue" course on 10th and 11th August.

This course is the 2nd step along the KCR pathway to bodywork mastery.

It gives an in depth understanding of Connective Tissue, how to connect to your own Connective Tissue, how to connect to and work with other people's connective Tissue and an in depth understanding of just how important this unassuming body system is.

Head on over to the KCR Academy website to secure your space on this course.

Let's do another wee intro/ about me since I am now fully working from the new clinic in Easterhouse.

So for those who don't know me I'm Julie the face, brains, hands and soul behind Realign and Revive. Growing up I loved crystals, essential oils and natural health/ healing. I even collected the Aromatherapy magazine and the Mind, body and Spirit magazine when I was in primary school.

I was a young mum, having my gorgeous son when I was only 16 years old. He spurred me on to gain a decent education and find my purpose.

First I qualified in Childcare and education, then my Social Science degree leading to my Psychology degree. I really thought I wanted to be a psychologist but I hated that degree. A friend asked about my childhood interests and encouraged me to research to see if it was something I could do. Roll round another few years and I had my Complementary Healthcare degree.

Amongst all of this I found KCR and it completely changed how I viewed the human body and treated it. KCR brings the body back into alignment, returning it to a dynamic balanced state.

Today I don't just offer KCR as a treatment but also teach this amazing therapy. I still offer a wide variety of massages as well and believe in a wholistic approach. Every treatment I currently offer has been chosen for its health benefits.

I am really looking forward to sharing my knowledge and passion in Complementary Healthcare from my new clinic in Easterhouse, Glasgow.

We are celebrating the uniqueness and lineage of my favourite treatment KCR.

In 2012 I was taught KCR by its creator the late Physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert. I studied under Hugh's guidance for many years until he passed away. Every mobilisation we do within the KCR protocol was created by Hugh himself. There are other techniques that are similar but Hugh created his techniques with safety and efficacy in mind.

Now all these years later I am so proud I can call myself a KCR trainer. Having the absolute pleasure of teaching this powerful protocol gives me immense joy. When I teach (and do) KCR I feel Hugh's presence.

I celebrate him every time I talk about, do and teach KCR to others.

KCR is so unique just like its creator. 😂

Although in general I don't push people to have super regular treatments, I do know there are benefits to having regular treatments. (I always live in the hope that we all listen to and act upon what our body is telling us.🙏)

There is something called "The Cumulative Effect" which shows that by having regular treatments that it takes longer for the aches/ pains, stresses etc to build back up in your body and healing of injury's speed up. (There are literally hundreds of scientific studies showing this.)

Think of your busy, stressful lives and how many bumps, falls and injuries you have sustained but haven't given your body the time, love or energy to recuperate and heal? This builds up in your body and creates poor health. One of the best ways to break all of that down and heal is through regular bodywork.

Is your health/ wellbeing a priority?

It really should be a top priority. Having regular bodywork is the best way to thank your body for keeping you going when it's exhausted and run down.
