Beginning 5 yeas ago in Whistler, Canada, I first discovered the art of massage. I learned how to envelope a person into a deep state of relaxation and have them float away after a treatment. One year and hundreds of happy people later, I had fallen in love with massage. For me, making people happy is compulsive and discovering massage fueled my addiction. I furthered my studies at the Western Sch
ool of Massage in Glasgow, gaining a diploma in Swedish massage and furthering a passion for anatomy. Through the guidence of their experineced therapists I lernt the importnace of a holistic approach and the delicate balance between the systems of the human body. This developed my skill as a therapist and compelled me to consider the person inside and out, body and soul. At the London School of Massage I became a qualified trigger point therapist. This allows me to isolate and then release points of tension within taught bands of muscles. I find this type of massage particularly rewarding as it envolves anatomical exploration with human conversion to source out the root cause of (often hard to explain) pain. Today I combine these techhniques and knowledge to produce a laterally thought out and indivudally evolved treament that seeks to rejouvenate, repair and relax. Through massage I endevour to share my compasion and energy to help return bodies and minds to a blissful balance.

In today’s society everyone wants to be doing something fun all the time, and not only that but if you don’t post it on social media straight away then it doesn’t even count (or does it?) It isn’t cool to post a photo of yourself having a nap or going to bed early on a Saturday but boasting about how little sleep you are surviving on gets you “likes” and respect.
It is generally assumed that more you go to the gym, the more work you do, the more you drink the better! It’s go, go, go and if you stop to rest then others will over take you. We will squeeze in another work out, do a couple hours over time and stay up late to maximize our social time in an effort to be the best we can.
This obsession with constant connectivity and the pressure from society to appear busy, fun and important is leading to a nation that is mentally exhausted and physically worn. We view sleep as something to do when you die rather than the secret elixir to feeling more alive.
There is a stigma attached to resting. It is pushed to the back burner and is viewed as an indulgence, something that you reserve for holidays or worse; a waste of time. It shouldn’t be a luxuary or an afterthought, rather, an essential component of the wellness strategy along with exercise and eating well. It is the most important investment you can make in yourself if you want to optimise your performance.
At Silver Circle we want to cultivate an environment where people not just get the rest they need but understand how integrating it into their lives will nourish their bodies and mind so that they will thrive. It’s time to start treating your body like the Astin Martin it is and stop hoping that the Fiat Punto will scrape through until it’s next service!
If you want to be the best, it’s time to invest in rest.
