I have a new Iyengar yoga class starting on Saturday 11 October, 9.15am to 10.45am at Kelvindale Bowling club. The class will run in 4 week blocks, off every 5th week.

It will be aimed at the yoga practitioner who are keen to deepen their understanding of the yoga poses, and to take their yoga practice further.

Looking at an introduction to Intermediate poses, working on somatic sensation, breath observation, connections between different parts of the body and the families of poses.

Greater understanding of the asana poses can deepen your yoga practice and can enable a greater focus towards the philosophy of yoga and it can be fun to practice some more challenging poses. Please see poster for contact details and if you wish to discuss further please message me.

"Do not think about having no time; then you will squeeze the time for your practices" ~ BKS Iyengar

For National Iyengar Yoga Day on Saturday 21 January we're exploring the theme 'Develop a yoga practice for you': looking at ways to build and enrich our personal practice at home, when we're not in class.

Having a busy life can be a big block to self-practice for many of us.

Iyengar yoga teacher Angela Hulm shared this tip from BKS Iyengar, which helped her fit in her practice while she was busy working two jobs:

"Guruji gave the advice to set your alarm clock 20 minutes earlier and have those 20 minutes before the day starts as your time...that was life changing, it stayed with me."

How do you squeeze time for your practice?

Happy birthday Prashantji! Thank you for your inspiring work and direction ๐Ÿ™

โ€œWe are always looking outward, listening to our teachers who come with their own problems and limitations and we ignore the most supreme teacher within ourselves. The only way to evolve, to progress, to truly practice, is to listen to our inner teacher.โ€ Prashant Iyengar
