✨Sunday Shout Out✨
One thing I truly love about my Qi Gong classes and retreat days is that it seems to attract wellbeing practitioners across many modalities.
Pictured here is the lovely Corrinna, Shiatsu practitioner and also a fellow Qi Gong teacher. You’ll find her here
Part of my own monthly wellbeing and body work is Shiatsu, for those who don’t know it’s a form of Japanese bodywork based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) principles.
The work with Corrinna extends beyond physical manipulation, it often has emotional and spiritual dimensions that in my mind really sets shiatsu apart as a therapy. I really treasure these sessions, so many lessons, much to explore.
The session is carried out on a futon mat on the floor, deeply relaxing and grounding.

🌶️ Fire Cider in the making 🌶️
Fire cider is a type of oxymel, which is an herbal remedy. Its name comes from the ancient Greek word oxymeli, which means acid and honey.
The tonic contains apple 🍎 cider vinegar (ACV), honey 🍯 and several other ingredients that may help support health 🫚🌿 and wellness. I tend to go a bit off piste and add a few extra ingredients. Since it is a folk recipe, there are countless variations in its ingredients. However, aside from ACV and honey, all fire cider recipes typically include five other basic ingredients: horseradish, ginger, chili peppers, garlic, and onion. You can also add other ingredients, such as turmeric, citrus fruit and herbs.
People may use fire cider as a natural remedy against the flu and common colds. Additionally, people may consider fire cider to help relieve nasal congestion, support digestion, warm the body during cold seasons, and boost immunity. It’s anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory.
I take it as a small shot, a few tablespoons, or sometimes make into a salad dressing. Others even like to have it as a warm drink!
Ingredients;
Garlic
Onion
Horseradish
Chilli - I add a few varieties
Ginger
Black peppercorns and a few junipers thrown in
Thyme
Rosemary
Sliced orange
Bay leaves
Turmeric root
Cinnamon stick
Horseradish can be hard to come by. Sometimes I get mine delivered, but managed to find some at Zucchini in the Southside of Glasgow. Your local grocers are a good bet! I’ve never found in a supermarket.
Packs a punch 🙌🏼 give it a whirl, just chop all your ingredients and cover with ACV for 2-4 weeks

Through breath and movement I’ll teach you how to process and move through grief, loss and sadness. Transform emotional pain into clarity and inner calm. Learn how to feel a deeper connection, to connect to the heart in times of sorrow.
Emotions may arise; the space will be held in a sensitive manner.
Please note this is a slightly shorter session than usual.
Please feel free to call me to discuss whether this retreat day is suitable for you.

I am Sacha McKenzie, a qualified Reiki and Reflexology Practitioner for 15 years and a Member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists. My treatments are dedicated to personal transformation and wellness through holistic therapies. I focus on the person’s whole wellbeing, their physical, emotional and spiritual wellness.
Why High 3? Well, I have been on a bit of a journey over the last few years. I was diagnosed with a degenerative neck condition and had been experiencing considerable discomfort. I was born with 3 fingers in my left hand and a deformed limb. Little did I realise that this could possibly be the root cause of my neck issues. With the support of Archangel Fitness (my personal trainer), I embarked upon a fitness regime which saw me entering into the weightlifting zone of the gym. Within months I was signed off physio and boy did I get the biggest “HIGH 3” from my personal trainer following all the hard efforts to adapt my workouts. This pushed me to challenge myself in other aspects of my life. I have always carried out my therapies on family, friends and for charities, but never at a professional level, as such, so I am embarking on this journey hoping to be able to help other people discover their potential or help them to heal, becoming healthier in their body, soul and spirit.
Three is the first number to which the meaning "all" was given. It is The Triad, being the number of the whole as it contains the beginning, a middle and an end. The power of three is universal and is the tripartide nature of the world as heaven, earth, and waters. It is human as body, soul and spirit.
Treatments:
Reflexology is based on an ancient form of therapy to harmonise and balance the body. I work on reflex points on your feet, hands, and ears that are thought to relate to specific organs and glands in the body.
Reiki is the ancient Japanese method of healing using energy to balance the body and mind. Reiki is believed to improve just about any aspect of life, from physical health to emotional well-being to stress reduction and mental clarity.
Hopi Ear Candling is an age-old therapy that is helpful for a variety of ear, nose and throat conditions. The herbal vapours from the lit candle also swirl into the ear canal, helping to soothe and balance.
