I wanted to share a quick update with friends and family, as a few people have asked how things are going here in Kathmandu.
At the moment, my flight on Wednesday is almost certainly going to be cancelled.. getting flights out of Kathmandu has been… very challenging to say the least. Many routes that usually go via Doha are being cancelled left right and centre, prices are changing minute by minute and are costing £1000's more than usual, several booking sites are showing flights that immediately disappear as soon as you click on them.
My wife, Debs, who is in the UK, has literally spent hours today trying to find me an alternative route home, her patience has been well and truly tested. She has managed to find me a flight home on Friday with 2 stops via China and it will take around 36 hours!!
More than anything though, this experience has reminded me what truly matters.
