Today is WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY as such I’d like to share with you all the things that make me happy and pick me up from any low moments I have.
So, obviously I’m going to say practising yoga and Pilates 🧘🏼♀️ stimulates mind and body. They have a huge calming effect, gives time for reflection and promotes good vibes. Breathing techniques along with stretches, postures and balances are the greatest of remedies. Not forgetting the benefits of sound therapy too!
Moving on, I go to the kitchen whenever I feel I need time on my own and I bake. Creating fabulous treats from plain ingredients gives me a sense of pride and happiness watching others enjoy them 😋
Obviously like most people, my happy place is on a holiday with family, friends or just relaxing in space I’ve found on my own with a good book. Reading, transports me to another place, using my imagination to explore new things and takes me away from a current situation. Cocktail 🍸time isn’t too bad either 😜.
Also, I’m not embarrassed to admit I love to do a jigsaw puzzle. It again has a massive calming effect and such a sense of achievement when it’s completed. Simple things can make you feel great!
