Mindfulness

🪷 Life can get very busy and creep up on us and without realising it we start to carry tension. The world rarely slows down and we find ourselves rushing from one task to another and our minds don’t switch off even when our bodies are trying to relax.

🪷 Mindfulness offers a gentle way:

🧘🏼‍♀️To pause.
🧘🏼‍♀️To breathe.
🧘🏼‍♀️ To come back to now.

🪷 It’s not about leaving life’s rotation and schedule, but about treating it with more clarity, compassion, and calm. One single mindful breath can change your entire day.

🪷 Whether you’re feeling stressed out, anxious, tired, or simply needing a moment of peace, mindfulness presents you the equipment to ground yourself. To listen inward. To reconnect with what matters most.

🪷 Because when we learn to be fully present, life begins to feel a little less chaotic and a lot more meaningful.

Again, I was awake earlier enough to participate in Elvis’s morning yoga here in Royalton Chic Antigua. I very much enjoyed his well executed and friendly session, he just let me get on with it and even showed me something I struggled to do 😳 (I blame my poor arthritic knees!) so, I had to show him something new sugar cane balance. Brilliant class. Set for a day in the sun now 🏝️

Today is WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY as such I’d like to share with you all the things that make me happy and pick me up from any low moments I have.

So, obviously I’m going to say practising yoga and Pilates 🧘🏼‍♀️ stimulates mind and body. They have a huge calming effect, gives time for reflection and promotes good vibes. Breathing techniques along with stretches, postures and balances are the greatest of remedies. Not forgetting the benefits of sound therapy too!

Moving on, I go to the kitchen whenever I feel I need time on my own and I bake. Creating fabulous treats from plain ingredients gives me a sense of pride and happiness watching others enjoy them 😋

Obviously like most people, my happy place is on a holiday with family, friends or just relaxing in space I’ve found on my own with a good book. Reading, transports me to another place, using my imagination to explore new things and takes me away from a current situation. Cocktail 🍸time isn’t too bad either 😜.

Also, I’m not embarrassed to admit I love to do a jigsaw puzzle. It again has a massive calming effect and such a sense of achievement when it’s completed. Simple things can make you feel great!

Today is WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY as such I’d like to share with you all the things that make me happy and pick me up from any low moments I have.

Last night was a wonder of sound and vibrations to re-energise, reset and rest. Thank you to all who attended this perfect little session. I absolutely love taking these sound classes.

Are you struggling for time to get out and exercise or just give time to yourself? How about doing it from the comfort of your own home and just do what you need to do even in your PJ’s! I host online yoga classes every day alongside my in person classes. Still feel like part of the group even when you’re in your own living room. Join me via Zoom for only £6 per session (60 mins) and feel free to dip out if you need too, if you have little ones at home or nosey pets (join in again once you’re ready!). Relaxed and easy - make it your own.
