Us ladies in the office like to wind Euan up.

As you can maybe see from our socials, Home Instead has transitioned from purple to green. But not everything has changed over yet and we are constantly introducing more green in the office much to Euans delight.

When we saw this “little” frog we thought we have to wind him up. However it backfired as he ended up liking it 🙈🤣

Our team have been all over East Fife the past few weeks, meeting with many families who are looking for help with their loved ones.

Sometimes visiting family member becomes only visiting to ensure medication has been taken. Have the bins been emptied? Has the meal I left last night been touched? It’s more of a check up, than visiting and socialising.

We can offer support with personal care, medication, meal preparation, companionship, home-help, live in care and overnight care.

With a minimum of one hour support and have the same times/days each week and the same care team, it helps build up the continuity, trust and relationships between clients and care professionals

We don’t believe in rushed care here in Home Instead East Fife

While many providers rush in and out, our visits are always a
minimum of one hour.

Why? Because quality care takes time. It’s
about more than just tasks, it's about having time to share a story
over a cup of tea or a stroll through the Beveridge Park. A drive along the coast to get a chippy in Anstruther. Attending an appointment at the Adamson Hospital.. Its about spending time having meaningful conversations whilst getting ready for the day. Or taking the time to cook a nutritional meal.

Meet the team Monday 💚

Today we our lovely care professional Weronika.

Weronika started with us late last year and although this is the beginning of her care experience she has previouslt worked as a domestic cleaner, which taught her a lot about people who simply need a helping hand and a friendly chat.

When asked why she loves being a care professional she told us “What I cherish most about working as a care professional is the simple act of making elderly individuals smile. There's a unique beauty in it that can instantly brighten your day, especially if things haven't been going smoothly. Whether it's assisting with a meal they truly enjoy, sharing a silly joke that brings laughter, or reminiscing about their past adventures, even just my presence can bring a smile to their faces. Their smiles hold so much honesty, and witnessing even the smallest smile is, in my opinion, the most rewarding aspect of this job”

When she is not working, Weronika enjoys meeting up with friends for coffee and a good catch-up – it's a great way to unwind and stay connected. She is also a bit of a TV and film buff, always on the lookout for a new series to binge or a classic movie to revisit. And if that wasn’t enough she also has a soft spot for shopping, particularly when it comes to finding unique pieces for her home that add a personal touch.

When asked about an interesting fact we maybe didn’t know she told us “a fun fact about me could be that I am extremely handy. If there’s anything broken or simply needs a man’s attention I will take it on and try to do it myself, most of the time successfully 😊”

Sounds like the perfect fit for our team and we are so lucky to have you join us Weronika. Weronika has eased into her position and we have had some lovely feedback from clients.

This week Sam & Amy went to a local primary school for their careers event.

We took along our “Betty” and the children got to put on Ppe, wash her face, assist with her glasses or slippers on, have some tea, and see what a keysafe looked like. All whilst learning that we do so much more than just help people clean themselves.

The children also learnt that a big part of this job is trust, kindness, respect and most of all you need to be caring.

All the children were so attentive and had a little chat with Betty. They really were a credit to the school.

We would like to note that parents of the children in this video all gave consent to be included 🙂

It was a great morning and we can’t wait to come back again 💚

On Tuesday we spent a few hours at St Andrews University whilst they held their Part time & volunteer careers event.

Sam met so many people & loved speaking to everyone 🥰

It was a really popular, busy event & we were lucky enough to be a part of it.

Euan had an exciting trip down to London to celebrate 20 incredible years of Home Instead in the Uk 💚

He had a full evening surrounded by amazing people, delicious food and the entertainment was also tremendous as everyone was entertained by the cast of the Lion King. All to honour 20 years of Home Instead.

Although we didn’t receive an award this year it was great to celebrate so many of the other offices.
