🚗 Surgery Car Park – For Patients Only 🚗

As a school event is taking place nearby, we kindly remind all attendees not to use the Simmondley Medical Practice car park.

🔹 These spaces are strictly reserved for patients who need access to medical care - some urgently.
🔹 Unauthorised parking may prevent vulnerable patients from attending vital appointments.

Please help us keep the car park clear for those who need it most.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION for women using weight loss or diabetes medicines such as Ozempic, Mounjaro, or Wegovy

The MHRA has updated its guidance on "skinny jabs". Here's what you need to know:

🚫 These medicines must not be used during pregnancy, when trying to conceive, or while breastfeeding.
💊 If you're taking Mounjaro and are overweight, oral contraceptives may be less effective. You should also use another form of contraception, like the implant, coil, or condoms.
🛑 Never buy these medicines from social media, beauty salons, or any other unregulated sources.
📢 Report any side effects or fake products via the MHRA’s Yellow Card scheme.

Dr Alison Cave, our Chief Safety Officer said:

“Skinny jabs are medicines licensed to treat specific medical conditions and should not be used as aesthetic or cosmetic treatments. They are not a quick fix to lose weight and have not been assessed to be safe when used in this way.”

“Our guidance offers patients a “one stop shop” for our up-to-date advice on how to use these powerful medicines safely.”

Loneliness Awareness Week | 9–15 June 2025
This week, we’re joining the national conversation to help break the stigma around loneliness.

Loneliness is a natural human emotion - something we all experience at times. But by talking about it and reaching out, we can help each other feel more connected.

At Simmondley Medical Practice, we’re proud to support our community through social prescribing, listening services, and local wellbeing initiatives. Whether it’s a friendly chat, a walking group, or just knowing someone is there - we believe in meeting loneliness together.

If you or someone you know is feeling isolated, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You’re not alone.

Loneliness Awareness Week aims to open conversations about loneliness and reduce the stigma. Join us from 9 - 15 June 2025! Brought to you by Marmalade Trust.
