7th of September
A Blood Moon happens when there’s a total lunar eclipse — the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow over the Moon. Instead of disappearing completely, the Moon turns a deep red or coppery color.
This red tint happens because Earth’s atmosphere scatters sunlight: shorter blue and green wavelengths are filtered out, while longer red and orange wavelengths bend around Earth and reach the Moon. It’s like a giant sunset projected onto the Moon. 🌕✨
Spiritually and magically, many people see Blood Moons as:
A time of release – letting go of old energies or habits.
Powerful for shadow work – facing what’s hidden within.
Transformation and rebirth – endings that make way for new beginnings.
Amplified energy – many witches and spiritual practitioners use it for strong 🔮 Blood Moon Release & Renewal Ritual
You’ll need:
A candle (red, black, or white)
A bowl of water (to represent cleansing)
A piece of paper & pen
Something to safely burn the paper (like a fireproof dish)
(Optional) Palo santo, sage, or incense for cleansing
---
🌙 Steps:
1. Cleanse your space
Light palo santo or incense. As the smoke rises, imagine it carrying away all heavy or stagnant energy.
2. Set your intention
Place the candle in front of you and light it. Say:
“Under the Blood Moon, I release what no longer serves me, and I welcome transformation.”
3. Write it down
On the paper, write what you want to release — fears, old habits, relationships, or anything weighing you down.
4. Burn & release
Carefully burn the paper in your fireproof dish. As it turns to ash, visualize the Moon absorbing that energy, leaving you lighter and freer.
5. Water blessing
Dip your fingers into the bowl of water and touch your forehead, heart, and hands. Whisper:
“I cleanse, I heal, I renew.”
6. Close the ritual
Sit quietly for a few minutes, gazing at the Moon. Feel her energy flow into you. When you’re ready, blow out the candle and say “So it is.”
