‘Celebrating Homecare’ has been launched to celebrate and recognise the amazing work that homecarers provide. Every day of the year, homecare workers support people to live safely and well at home, enabling people to flourish within our communities.

Gloucester Homecare Services employs 13 careworkers, who provide care in the community, providing the opportunity for vulnerable people to remain in their own homes with support. Throughout a difficult period, they have served an important role as key workers, providing vital support to clients living across Gloucester.

It's great to see that the role of Homecare Workers is being celebrated across the country today. As the video below states, there are so many people who appreciate the work that Homecare Workers do but it is fantastic to see this honoured by the Homecare Association and the Care Workers Society.

Good luck to Beth, our Supervisor, who is starting her Dementia Lead Award with Gloucestershire County Council today.

This qualification will equip Beth with the knowledge and skills to support our staff in developing their broad knowledge in relation to Dementia care, improving the lives of people we care for who are living with Dementia, and their family members.

Beth's qualification will also enable her to challenge negative attitudes and promote best practice in Dementia care as well as supporting clients to receive information, advice and support services.

We work in the Longlevens, Hucclecote and Churchdown areas of Gloucester and due to high demand for our services, we are recruiting for experienced Care Assistants who can help us build on our already strong reputation in the area.

In your role, you will visit our adults in their own homes and offer support with all aspects of daily life, including personal care, help with medication, meal preparation or simply a trip out of the house. Every day working as a Community Care Assistant is different and makes such a difference to those you support.
