A local woman dropped off this Prince 3/4 size classical guitar, it's been sat around in her attic for years. Now her daughter is old enough she wants her to start music lessons at school, so it was brought to me for a complete overhaul. All sorted now and ready to be put to use tomorrow.

All completed and re-assembled now. All settings have been adjusted and it's ready now for the owners approval.

And moving on to this Fujigen guitar from a local young musician, stripped bare of all non essentials, he wanted just the DiMarzio humbucker pickup and the jack socket and the two wiring together, but I pointed out the need for a volume control, or kill switch even if just to kill the signal for when the jack plug is pulled, saving the speakers in the amp from damage. Job done, ready to go.

This Taylor 214ce was brought around at the end of last week, for a service and see if I could reduce the string height as the owner found it difficult to play. After some adjustment on the truss rod to level the neck the strings were removed as was 2 mm of bone from the base of the bridge saddle. The neck was preserved and the frets polished before new strings were fitted. The adjustments brought the strings down to a manageable height and has made the guitar more player friendly.

Had a phone call this afternoon from a local guitarist who had a problem with his Fender Stratocaster, this David Gilmour Edition, when he played it using the string bending technique, the 'G' string would pop out of it's slot in the nut. So I said I would take a look for him. He duly dropped it off and I got to work sorting the problem and also gave the guitar a complete setup. He came over a few hours later to try it out and take it home. Job done.

Just completed this Stonebridge acoustic guitar, for a valued customer, I fitted Journey Tek Piezo Pickup Modules to the underside of the bridge and wired in a jack plug socket on the rear, which also doubles up as a strap button. I did all the necessary adjustments and tuned it to the customers requirements. It's now awaiting collection.

So the latest guitar to fall into my clutches is this Vintage Advantage Series Stratocaster style guitar. It's received a full clean up and service, the securing of some loose items and all the necessary adjustments made, which also included the addition of 2 springs to the bridge tremolo assembly as there was still movement in the bridge with the adjusting screws fully tightened. The owner want's to use it as a 'Hard Tail' so that's what he's getting, it's now a lot more stable and doesn't go off tune.

Latest on the agenda, this brand new ESP USA, LTD M-1 Custom guitar, the owner asked me to fit his own choice Ernie Ball Custom strings and do a complete setup, as he had no idea about setting up a Floyd Rose Bridge. Luckily for him I have done quite a few.
He also wanted it tuned 2 steps down, so in 'C'.
This now completed and waiting on the owner coming to try it out and for me to ensure he is happy with the result.

This 1990's Takamine EG-332C was brought in with intermittent electrics, so after some investigation on how to get the preamp removed the fault was traced to corroded battery terminals within the amp and also the din plug connection for the pickup, after I had cleaned up the terminals and reassembled everything, I proceeded to fit new Martin strings, only to find that one of the tuners was stripped out and couldn't be secured. The problem with an old guitar is spares availability, so I got in touch with Takamine in the US, that was a week ago, still no answer, so I obtained a set of Gotoh SG381's, which are the equivalent in size and fitted those, job done, now ready and fit to go.

This Music Man Sterling StingRay has been one heck of a long term project and finally today it's fully assembled, tested and working great, the big delay was due to Mr Trump, as the banana shaped control plate had to come from the Music Man factory in the good old US of A. The were a few other anomalies I had to iron out on the way, like the battery box I had to rout out on the back of the body as the body manufacturer hadn't made it big enough. But she's up and running and ready to go.

After such a busy day I managed to finish off this Vintage version of the Telecaster, it was looking very sad for itself...

After such a busy day I managed to finish off this Vintage version of the Telecaster, it was looking very sad for itself and had obviously been kept in a damp place as most of the chrome work was quite badly rusted. But nothing a bit of 0000 grade steel wool won't sort and some polish.
So it's had a full service and been fitted with D-Addario EXL110 strings, tuned and checked out on the amp and it's sounding good.

At the same time as the Squier fretless bass was dropped off the owner asked me if I could give this 1970's Avon, Rose Morris EB270 (Bill Wyman) Bass a sympathetic service and setup, he didn't want any paint touching up and preferred it to stay as it was, so I did as he requested and it is now completed and lightly polished, just to remove the grubby marks.
