On this very grey and dreary Monday, here’s a little reminder for you all✨

“Be kind to yourself. Let the bad days go and focus on the all of the good days ahead. Life isn’t always perfect and neither are we. There will be days that don’t go to plan and there will be days that exceed all of your expectations. It’s all about balance, it’s about taking the good with the bad. At any given moment, doing your best is all you can do, and doing your best is more than enough.” - Charlotte Freeman

And just like my photo, it is also a reminder that these days don’t last forever! The sunshine, blue skies and longer days will be back! But for now, you can only take each day as it comes. So, as always, remember, be kind to yourself, because I promise, you’ve got this🩷

SO TRUE✨

Doing a high intensity workout every now and then isn’t going to get you to where you want to be. Equally, you don’t actually have to go 10/10 every time you workout...why?

Firstly, it is not sustainable (you can certainly try) but secondly

Every workout will feel different due to so many factors on a daily basis - e.g. your day, how you’ve slept, how you’ve ate, what you’ve had to deal with...literally there are so many more, the list can just go on

Regardless, all of these can affect energy levels, strength, your body’s physical and mental capacity etc

The biggest factor though...CONSISTENCY!

To keep showing up on the days when it’s easier to say no, but deep down you know you will feel better for it and for your

✨your mood
✨your mind

So if you’re feeling a little down, or things haven’t been going as you may have planned, don’t give up. Keep showing up and I promise, with small tiny steps, each day, results will soon follow🫶🏼

Looking for a quick, FEEL GOOD mobility sequence to get the blood flowing and the endorphins flying?✨

This little sequence took me under 5 minutes, and oh my, my body and my mind felt such a relief and calmness😌

Did you know?✨
Mobility is the ability to move freely and with ease without being restricted by stiffness or stress. Coupled with flexibility, it plays a huge part in our everyday life as it helps to reduce stress and the risk of injuries, promotes better form when exercising and increases range of movement in a joint🧘🏻‍♀️

The sequence (save & enjoy!)✨
Cat/cow
Thread the needle
Full body circles
Child’s pose
Downdog
Hip flexor stretch with arm circles (R)
Back extension
Downdog (repeat other side)
Standing forward fold
Roll up into shoulder rolls
Standing rotations
(Speed at x2)

Absolutely you don’t know what you’re capable of unless you go for it!💪🏼

But as a little January reminder, remember you don’t have to go changing and trying to do everything all at once!!

Prioritise the little healthy habits:
✨Eat whole foods and home cook where you can
✨Make time to move your body
✨Create a bed time routine for a better nights sleep (where you can!)

If it feels too much to do all 3, focus on one at a time!

Once those are re/established, you’ll have the foundations to continue adding those building blocks to building the healthy and happier lifestyle you want for YOU🫶🏼

CHICKPEA & LENTIL STEW✨

Another of my favourite winter warmers from my cookbook!

Such a family friendly meal, taking 30 minutes, full of flavour, full of colour and packed full of protein!

This can be served as completely vegetarian, or if you’ve got a husband like mine, who is allergic to anything that doesn’t have some form of meat included🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 I baked some chicken thighs in the same seasoning to serve alongside!

£900 RAISED FOR WELDMAR HOSPICECARE🩷

To top a wonderful Christmas, I have been able to donate my next ÂŁ100 for Weldmar Hospicecare , bringing my total raised to ÂŁ900!

To achieve this in just over two years of sales of my cookbook alone is just incredible! I couldn’t be more proud and grateful to every single person who has purchased a copy! From those who tell me what they make, to what has become staple recipes in their own household, it truly is such a special feeling.

As always, when I’m writing one of these updates, emotions do surface. I am so proud of the success of the cookbook, not only through raising money for a fantastic cause, but also inspiring others to cook wholesome homemade meals and snacks. But for me, it is also a constant reminder of the reason why I’ve done it and the one person I wish was here to see it unfortunately isn’t💔

Grief teaches you A LOT. Not only about yourself, but it truly puts life into perspective. You learn how to regrow around the hole that has been left. Nothing will ever take away from the loss and emotions you feel, but finding little glimmers of light help. This book gave me a focus, a purpose, and most importantly, a sense of joy during one of my darkest times. It also created a way of giving back to a hospice that valued my Mum’s wishes and after a life of putting everyone else first before herself, for Weldmar to be able to give my Mum her final wishes, myself and my family will be forever grateful🤍

I hope through the continued sales and donations I am able to make, we are able to support Weldmar in gifting people and their families the support they need, and I know how proud my Mum would be of this🩷
