Good morning everybody from a very wet Norton Canes Community Food Table.

We're open today from 10 until 10.45am, we're located on the Vic Car Park, Norton East Road, Norton Canes.

We offer a range of fresh and tinned food from shops that would otherwise waste them. Please let anyone know who you think may benefit from this.

We would like to thank St Oswald's ExtraCare Gloucester for the great donation this week. Also Pete and Jan for the donation.

Seated Yoga & Fitness @ St. Oswald's

Calling all residents and friends of St. Oswald's Village, we wanted to remind you about the fantastic weekly SEATED YOGA classes we have at St. Oswald's, brought to you by Ellie Stafford Yoga.

These wonderful classes incorporate the wonders of Yoga with general fitness and will help improve co-ordination, balance, strength & flexibility. The classes are also great for breathwork and mindfulness - leaving you feeling refreshed and relaxed.

All are welcome. Sessions are every Monday, 10:30-11:30am and cost just £5.00! No pre-booking required.

Why not give it a go? Classes are ideal for those with prior Yoga experience as well as those who have never tried Yoga before.

Intergenerational Games Morning at St. Oswald's:

Last week we welcomed back the children and staff from Park House Prep School in Gloucester, who had a fantastic morning playing games and interacting with our residents in our coffee shop.

As a follow-on from this and other recent visits, we will be making these visits into a regular bi-weekly activity in partnership with the school...commence in the new academic year! Can't wait!

St. Oswald's BIG Health Event 2025!

We had an amazing day on Wednesday for our BIG HEALTH EVENT, with around 30 organisations coming to share their expertise, advice, and resources.

Residents fed back that it was a wonderful range of services represented, and many stallholders enjoyed the chance to network and learn themselves what else is available in the county.

We're already in discussions with many about coming back to the village to do standalone information stalls, presentations, and group sessions.

St. Oswald's Volunteers' Thank You Party 2025!

On Saturday, we held our annual Volunteers' Thank You Party - an evening dedicated to recognising and celebrating all our inspirational volunteers and the tremendous, selfless work they carry out to support our residents.

The event proved a wonderful occasion as those in attendance were treated to a delicious pre-show buffet, before dancing the night away with 2 sets of incredible live entertainment from the amazing Glen Leon and his band!

From all of the staff at St. Oswald's, THANK YOU once again for everything do as ExtraCare volunteers to enrich our village and support our community.

St. Oswald's Day Trippers visit Highclere Castle & Gardens...

Last week we took a full coach load of residents and friends to the stunning Highclere Castle & Gardens.

Those who attended had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful interior, the stunning castle grounds and the fascinating Egyptian Exhibition which tells the story of the 1922 discovery of Tutankhamun...

A big thank you to Gloucestershire Libraries for bringing their fabulous 'Windrush Day' event to St. Oswald's this afternoon for our residents.

This fabulous activity workshop was centred around celebrating the rich heritage of African and Caribbean cultures with Kulchalee arts, an artist, crafter, drummer, storyteller and educational trainer.

A thoroughly entertaining and thought provoking afternoon.
