My name is Sarah Freckleton and I am the door to your ‘Wellness Space’.
My interests are all things ‘Wellbeing’ and I strive for balance with all things.
I believe in paying attention to your body and mind, to have a presence and awareness of how we feel mentally and physically, which gives the balance and wellness we are all looking for to live our lives fully. Whether that is managing stress and anxiety, creating movement and mobility in the body, or easing pain and stiffness, all these areas can effect our mood and our day to day life. I want to offer a service which captures all these elements including massage, yoga and mindfulness sessions at ‘The Wellness Space’.

ABOUT ME - I have not always been a massage therapist or a Yogi, and definitely do not profess to be able to contort my body into any kind of pretzel like shape!
I am a normal person with a background in teaching freestyle dance and studio fitness classes until such time as I found myself undertaking a career in the police service. After 15 years service an opportunity arose to apply for the position of their Physical Training Instructor (PTI), teaching fitness, first aid, self defence, and wellbeing elements to officers and staff, which is where you can still find me part of the week.
Yes, I can hear you thinking, not very Zen or yoga like! To put the balance back, I have trained as a Massage Therapist and Yoga and Mindfulness instructor.
The Massage bit - Over the years I have found relief and felt the benefits of massage with releasing tension and managing injury to such a point that I wanted to help others feel more at ease with tightness and discomfort in their muscles that impacts their daily lives. Whether through overwork (sports/physically related), the build up of stress and anxiety, suffering headaches and migraines or just a general stiffness, massage can help bring great relief. I now have regular clients who consider massage as ‘body maintenance’ and part of their regular health and wellness routine.
The Yoga bit - I have dabbled with yoga over the years, trying different classes and sometimes not revisiting my mat for long periods, but every now and again something would draw me back for another go, almost as if my subconscious was saying don't give up on it!
I am glad to say I did not give up and have since undergone my Yoga Teacher Training at the ‘World Peace Yoga School in Rishikesh, India - which was an amazing experience and I am excited to share my love of yoga with everyone!
All of you out there whether you consider yourself to be fit/unfit, fat/thin, too old/too young - and the list goes on, there is a place for you at ‘The Wellness Space’. I am a true believer that yoga is for everyone. (Its just finding the right teacher/style/class).
The most important thing I want to share is:- You do not need to be flexible to do yoga!
To practise Yoga you need .....Your body (in whatever state of repair it happens to be in!) Your mind (Whatever it is thinking). Your curiosity to have a go, and some leggings or comfortable clothes. Give yourself yoga to look after yourself, bring strength, flexibility and balance to your body, whilst focusing and relaxing your mind. Ready to face another day in the busy life of ‘you’.
Mindfulness Bit - This forms part of my yoga studies as they go very closely hand in hand. What is meditation/mindfulness? It was an unknown concept for me, initially thinking I have to sit on the floor and pretend to not think of anything! Definitely not the case.....Let me help you demystify this topic and allow you to benefit from becoming mindful during your day with different techniques (one will suit you) and yes you can sit on a chair or even walk, who knew!
I invite you to join me at The Wellness Space for Massage, Yoga or Mindfulness - be willing to to be a warrior for your own wellness and health journey. Begin where you are and do what you can.
