🌡️ Heat Wave Alert: Stay Safe and Stay Cool

We're in the middle of an intense heat wave, with temperatures soaring well above seasonal norms. This extreme heat isn’t just uncomfortable — it can be dangerous. Whether you're working outside, running errands, or staying home, please take precautions to protect yourself and others.

Here’s what you need to know:

🔥 Hydrate constantly – Drink water throughout the day, even if you’re not thirsty. Avoid alcohol and caffeine.

🧊 Stay cool – Use fans, take cool showers, and stay indoors during peak heat hours (usually 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.).

🌳 Check on others – Elderly neighbours, children, and pets are especially vulnerable. A quick call or visit could save a life.

🚫 Never leave anyone in a parked car – Even for a few minutes. The temperature inside can rise dangerously fast.

🏥 Know the signs of heat-related illness – Dizziness, nausea, headache, rapid heartbeat, or confusion are red flags. Seek medical attention immediately if these occur.
