Parton House Care Home, Located in the heart of the village of Churchdown, Halfway between Gloucester and Cheltenham, It is set back off the road down a long driveway. The home has its own extensive grounds and is surrounded by community allotments and playing fields, giving it a quiet, rural feel.

Helping residents feel settled, welcomed and understood is so important to us, especially when someone first joins the home. It is lovely to hear that this care and support has also extended to the wider family.

Keeping relatives informed and involved is a key part of what we do, and our team works hard to make sure families feel reassured, listened to and included.

We enjoyed a fun afternoon of indoor bowling, bringing plenty of focus, encouragement and friendly competition in the lounge. 🎳

It was lovely to see everyone getting involved in their own way, taking turns, cheering each other on and enjoying a bit of light-hearted fun together. Indoor games like this are a great way to keep active, support coordination and bring residents together socially.

Eyes down...

We’ve been enjoying a few games of bingo this week, and as always, it brought plenty of smiles, concentration and friendly competition.

Bingo is one of those activities that everyone can get involved with. It’s great fun, but it also helps keep the mind active, encourages focus and memory, and supports hand movement as residents mark off their numbers.

A lovely way to spend time together, share a laugh and celebrate those winning calls!

We’ve been making the most of the beautiful sunshine here at Parton House 🌞

Residents have been enjoying some time out in the gardens, taking in all the lovely signs that spring is well and truly here. The lawns are looking wonderfully green, flowers are beginning to bloom, and there’s plenty of wildlife to keep an eye on too 🐿️🌼

During our strolls, we even spotted a cheeky squirrel helping itself to some food, which certainly brought a few smiles!

It’s been lovely, fingers crossed this weather continues...

We were delighted to welcome live entertainment into Parton recently, bringing a wonderful afternoon of music, singing and a little bit of dancing too.

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the performance, with many joining in with familiar songs, clapping along and sharing smiles throughout. It’s always lovely to see how music brings people together and creates such a positive atmosphere across the home.

A big thank you to the performers for such an uplifting visit – we’re already looking forward to the next one 🎶

We made the most of the sunshine this weekend...

With our front and rear gardens looking bright in the sun, it was the perfect excuse to get outside, enjoy some fresh air and spend time together.

Whether it was sitting in the sun with a chat, taking in the flowers, or simply enjoying a quiet moment, it’s safe to say the good weather lifted everyone’s spirits.

We can't wait to get our hands dirty planting new flowers and getting creative with our pots, stay tuned for more updates.

While we wait for the sunshine to make an appearance, it’s been all about puzzles and games here at Parton House 🧩

From carefully placing those tricky jigsaw pieces to taking on the not-so-simple penguin stacking challenge, there’s been plenty of focus, laughter and a bit of friendly determination along the way.
Some puzzles definitely tested our patience more than others—but that just made finishing them even more satisfying.

It’s moments like these that keep everyone engaged, active and enjoying each other’s company. And of course, there’s always someone ready to lend a hand when that one missing piece seems impossible to find.

You can’t beat a good game of bingo at Parton House!

There was plenty of friendly competition, lots of laughs and a few very questionable rhymes for the numbers along the way… but that’s all part of the fun!

Things got a little silly at Parton House this week… and we loved every minute of it! 😄

Our residents took part in a game where the aim was to throw inflatable balls into a pair of very oversized trousers worn by one of our brave staff members! It might sound unusual, but it had everyone laughing from start to finish.

A brilliant way to bring everyone together, share a few laughs and keep the fun going in the home. 💛

It wouldn’t be Easter at Parton House without making some delicious Mini Egg Rice Crispy cakes! 🐣

Our residents had a lovely time getting involved, from stirring the mixture to adding the finishing touch with plenty of mini eggs on top. As you can see, they went down an absolute treat!

We had a wonderful Easter here at Parton House! 🐣💛

From Easter eggs galore to hidden surprises around the home, it was a lovely day filled with fun, smiles and plenty of chocolate. Residents enjoyed receiving their eggs from the Easter Bunny and filling their baskets with even more treats along the way.

A truly special day enjoyed by all. 🌷

We’ve been enjoying one of our residents’ favourite activities here at Parton House — a fun game of skill, focus and a little friendly competition. 🎯

Our residents had a lovely time getting moving and aiming for points by landing the balls in the correct colours and spaces. It was a brilliant way to encourage coordination, concentration and gentle exercise, all while having plenty of laughs along the way.

Activities like this may look simple, but they bring so much enjoyment and are a great way to keep minds active and bodies moving in a relaxed and social setting.

Well done to everyone who took part! 💛
