First Aid and Trauma Training

The weather was really against this event at Gordon League RFC and it was touch and go throughout the day whether we would get a window for Chase Lane Fireworks to fire; but the crowds grew and the funfair was lighting up the night sky. A large storm passed through and a calm descended, the wind dropped, changed direction and at 2030 there was a strong indication the conditions would be good enough to safely undertake the display. Well done to everyone involved. Great to be providing the Health and Safety support and First Aid cover.

Another good event providing the first aid and Health and Safety cover for Chase Lane Fireworks summer event in the Forest of Dean at Speech House. Quite possibly the best fireworks I have seen.

You know when you are somewhere special, when you walk into the boardroom and the desk is made from two Merlin helicopter propellers sat side by side. Gravity Industries captivates people across the globe with their incredible feats of piloting jet suits in all manner of places from mountains, to the Formula One. It was a pleasure to work with their teams this week on practicing and honing their first aid and trauma skills at their base in Wiltshire. A fit and able group they undertook all of the drills with a good sense of team work and camaraderie and did well in all aspects of the training. Well done all.

Trauma and First Aid for the Ian Coley Sporting and Roxtons Fishing teams this week, with lots of emphasis on practical scenarios including trauma style incidents all made for a great days training. Well done to all the staff that got stuck in.

Well done to all the staff members from Play Gloucestershire Kilbury Construction The Door Youth Project doors Beaudesert Park School who all undertook the Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work training this week. The teams worked well on all the practicals and learnt some new skills and updated old ones.

Great to be with the Worcester Emerging Futures CIC team undertaking the Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course. The team took part in lots of practicals improving their skills in lots of different areas. Well done all

Fire Training was the order of the week this week, with staff from all over the country who convened at Elmbridge Court Business park at Carbon a Solar Panel farm installer. Great training and great team.

A full on week of fire training with the first course with staff from Flowtech based at Innsworth Technology Park great course with the team who were fully engaged.

Fantastic to have the team from Flowtech this week on the Level 3 First Aid at Work course. The team got fully involved with the practicals and all passed with flying colours. Well done to Tim Oliver on a great course

Absolutely awful news, I don’t think we give our firefighters enough credit. Thinking of their families.

Two further firefighters are in hospital with serious injuries after the blaze at Bicester Motion, a former RAF base.

The weather for Polish Heritage Day Gloucester was stunning, the crowds were the best we have seen and the people and music were fantastic. Thanks to all the lovely people that came and visited us. We had a quiet day with just a few bumps, and some magic plasters that seemed to fix lots of problems. The seating was well installed by GFH Events and it was great to see our friends from the Laguna’s Spitfire Legacy showing off their kit. Well done all 👏👏 Jaro Kubaszczyk

The team was at the top of Robinswood Hill for the D Day 80 celebrations organised by Gloucester City Council. The team were providing the medical care at the top of the hill, whilst also enjoying the beautiful sunset and lighting of the beacon.
