At Chapel House Nursing Home, we recently took part in the Dementia Bus experience delivered by the Virtual Dementia Tour, together with our colleagues from Woodstock Nursing Home.

It was an incredibly immersive session that offered a real sense of how dementia can affect everyday perception and interaction. Simple things suddenly feel unfamiliar, and it really highlights how much patience, awareness and understanding matters in day-to-day care.

The team approached the experience with real care and curiosity. There were moments of reflection, discussion, and plenty of thoughtful questions as staff tried to make sense of what they were experiencing and how it connects to the people we support every day.

It’s the kind of training that stays with you, not because it’s easy, but because it makes you think differently afterwards.

We’re grateful to the Virtual Dementia Tour for delivering such a meaningful experience for our team.

🎉 Morning Bingo Fun! 🎉

We had a wonderful time at our bingo session this morning, filled with laughter, excitement, and friendly competition. It was lovely to see everyone joining in and cheering each other on.

A big congratulations to our delightful winner, Diane! 🏆 Her smile lit up the room as she claimed her prize.

We had such a lovely time at our Easter raffle in the home! 🐣🎉 Our residents really enjoyed getting involved, especially pulling out the winning tickets – lots of smiles and excitement all around.

A big thank you to everyone who bought tickets and supported us. Your kindness means so much, and all the money raised will go straight into the residents’ fund to help us continue providing fun activities and special moments 💛

Katie is our employee of the month. Katie is our Activities Coordinator who does a marvellous job supporting all our residents, organising all our amazing in-house and external events. The residents thoroughly enjoy all the events.
Katie supports all staff and relatives and is always willing to help wherever she can.
Katie is a listening ear for all.
We are very lucky to have a great employee, Katie is a valued member of the team.

We had a fantastic time today with our seated exercise session! 💪🎶

With music playing and everyone joining in with singing, there were lots of smiles, laughter, and great energy all around. It’s wonderful to see how much joy a bit of movement and music can bring to our residents.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious spread of pancakes, fresh fruits, and croissants while chatting and starting the day with smiles all around. It’s always such a warm and social way to bring everyone together. 💛

We had such a fantastic time in the home when JB Steelpan Music came to visit! 🎶🌴

Our residents absolutely loved singing along, having a little dance, and getting involved by shaking musical instruments to the lively steelpan beats. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and wonderful energy from start to finish.

Today we celebrated International Day of Happiness here at the home 💛

Our residents shared what truly brings them joy by adding their thoughts to our happiness board. From family visits and friendly chats, to music, laughter, and dancing – it was lovely to see all the little things that mean so much.
