πŸ“ U16 Clarets Match Report

Competition: West Midlands Inclusive League – Championship Division
Team: Barnwood Utd U16 Clarets πŸ’œ

The U16 Clarets competed strongly in the Championship Division fixtures.

The opening game resulted in a 6–0 defeat to Solihull Moors. It was a tough start, with most of the damage done in the first half. However, the second-half performance was much improved, showing greater organisation, effort and resilience.

The response in the second fixture was outstanding, with a convincing 4–1 victory over Welland. Kayden scored twice, with Harry also on the scoresheet in a confident attacking display and a far sharper all-round performance from the team 🩡

The final game against Lionsgate was a hard-fought contest, but the Clarets showed determination and composure to secure a 2–1 win. Harry and Lucas both scored in a strong team performance to close the session on a high πŸ’œ

Special mention to Amelie for producing several excellent saves across the day β€” a vital contribution in key moments πŸ¦‰

After a difficult opening match, the Clarets showed real character to finish with back-to-back wins β€” an impressive response in a competitive Championship Division.

Club Pathway & Recognition πŸ’œπŸ©΅πŸ¦‰β˜„οΈ

As a club, we would like to congratulate every coach across our Pan-Disability pathway β€” from the Comets β˜„οΈ , through the U12sπŸ’œπŸ©΅ and U16s.πŸ’œπŸ©΅

The progress, commitment and development shown at every age group demonstrates the strength of our structure and the positive environment being created.

The consistency in coaching, the inclusive ethos and the clear development pathway now in place give us real confidence as we look ahead. The ambition to introduce U20 and Adult teams is not just an idea β€” it is a natural next step in what is becoming a strong, sustainable and fully inclusive programme.

Barnwood Utd Pan-Disability πŸ’œπŸ©΅ continues to go from strength to strength, and the dedication of players, coaches and families alike proves that we are building something very special and very good for the long term.

Competition: West Midlands Inclusive League – Division 1
Team: Barnwood Utd U16 Blues

The U16 Blues began their Division 1 fixtures with a strong 1–1 draw against the Falcons. It was an organised and competitive performance, with the team playing well and showing good structure throughout.

The second match resulted in a 2–0 defeat to Birmingham City. The players worked extremely hard and stayed disciplined, although clear-cut chances were limited. With the games scheduled back-to-back, the physical demands were evident in the second half.

The final fixture saw a 4–0 loss to Madeley. Credit to the opposition, who were clinical and well organised. As fatigue set in, concentration dipped at key moments, which proved decisive.

Competing in Division 1 is always a demanding test, but the squad showed resilience, commitment and character across the day β€” particularly in the opening match. There are clear positives to build on going forward.

After a difficult opening match, the Clarets showed real character to finish with back-to-back wins β€” an impressive response in a competitive Championship Division.

πŸ“ U12 Match Report πŸ¦‰πŸ¦‰πŸ¦‰πŸ¦‰πŸ¦‰

Competition: West Midlands Inclusive League
Team: Barnwood Utd U12 Pan-Disability Owls

The U12s delivered an outstanding performance and were unfortunate not to come away with two wins on the day. Both fixtures ended in draws, but the team more than deserved victory based on their overall play and commitment.

Alex, Noah, Oscar and Henry all came agonisingly close to converting strong attacking opportunities into goals, showing great movement and attacking intent throughout.

Defensively, the team were equally impressive. Rafe produced some excellent defensive work, including several huge clearances to relieve pressure, while Noah demonstrated safe hands and composure when called upon. The team’s cohesion and willingness to work for one another was evident across both matches.

One parent summed it up perfectly: β€œIt was really exciting to watch.”

A fantastic team performance full of effort, spirit and progress.

Thank you to all parents for their support and chauffeuring β€” it is very much appreciated.

Keep it up team β€” we’re proud of you. πŸ’ͺ

Also a big Thankyou to Coaches Sarah , Alex and Nathan

Super full Sunday with the Comets today!

We played dishes and domes, practiced our dribbling and shooting, and had a blast with a game of tails.

What makes this team so special isn’t just the skills we’re building it’s the way everyone belongs. Every player is valued. Every effort is celebrated. Everyone supports each other.

We move at our own pace, we try our best, and we cheer for every success big or small. The smiles, encouragement, and teamwork today were beautiful to see.

So proud of our Comets. This is what inclusion looks like.

Barnwood Utd AFC Pan-Disability Football πŸ’œπŸ’™

A huge thank you to all our parents and players for the fantastic turnout at today’s coaching session. The support week in, week out never goes unnoticed β€” it truly does make a difference to the environment we are building together.

As always, the children were the real stars of the show ⭐ The way they adapted, supported one another and gave maximum effort throughout the session was brilliant to see. The smiles, determination and teamwork on display are exactly what our club stands for. We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them.

A special mention to our fantastic coaching team β€” Paul, Sarah and Emma β€” for delivering such an engaging and well-structured session. The positivity, patience and energy you bring each week creates a space where every player can grow in confidence.

And of course, not forgetting our incredible admin team β€” Helena and Secretary Sally β€” who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly. Your organisation and dedication allow us to put on such a professional and inclusive coaching experience πŸ‘

⚽ Exciting Development News ⚽

Following training today, Coach John, Head Helena and Secretary Sally visited the Gloucestershire FA Adult Disability League to continue building pathways and networking with the GFA and Southwest based adult teams our players.

We are delighted to share that we will be starting a brand new U20 and Adult Pan-Disability team next season, competing in the WMIL. This is a huge step forward for the club and provides a clear progression route for our older players to continue their football journey in an inclusive and competitive environment.

Next week we head to The WMIL at The Birmingham FA HQ ⚽
We’ll be asking for availability later in the week, so please keep an eye out for that message.

Thank you all once again for being part of something truly special. Together, we are not just running sessions β€” we are building futures, friendships and opportunities πŸ’™πŸ’œ

Soaring through our Sunday Comets session like superstars!

We kicked things off with dishes and domes, moving so fast we had to go twice just to keep up with ourselves! ⚑ Then it was time to level up our skills weaving through cones with silky close control before unleashing some awesome shots on goal.

Next came the legendary game of tails, lots of giggles, quick turns, and sneaky steals! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’¨ To finish, everyone enjoyed some free time to practice their favourite tricks, show off their skills, and most importantly, hang out and have fun with friends.

Another brilliant session full of energy, smiles, and Comets magic!πŸͺ„
