Park View Gloucester Park View Gloucester is a Care Home for Older People in Gloucester Quays

The home is state of the art containing a number of low zero carbon systems to make the building energy efficient and kind to the environment, such as a ground source heat pump system that will provide under floor heating and hot water for the home as well as state of the art low energy lighting throughout. Special consideration has been given in the development of Park View to ensure that the bu

ilding blends well with surrounding properties and architecture and is of benefit to the local community. The home is ideally placed in the centre of Gloucester in an area of urban regeneration adjacent to Gloucester Quays, is within walking distance of local amenities, and has good public transport links. Park View has a secure direct access from the home into Gloucester’s main park which is adjacent. Built on 4 floors with facilities and services designed with the specific healthcare requirements of older people in mind, Park View can support people who still wish to remain independent whilst having peace of mind in a self contained apartment, to those who require nursing or specialist dementia care in a secure environment with dementia friendly design. With such a wide range of care provision it is our aim to be able to provide ‘a home for life’ for all of our residents living here. On the ground floor of the home is a café and hairdressing salon which will be open to the public, then through into a private area there are bedrooms looking out over Gloucester Park. Our Ethos upholds the desire to make a difference to the experiences of those who are both living and working at Park View by creating opportunities for lives which have meaning and purpose. As a socially and environmentally responsible home, our mission is 'Creating tomorrow’s environments'; to create a welcoming community in which we support Older People and our Staff to flourish and thrive. We believe that a person’s individuality should not diminish with age but that all staff and residents should be valued and their lives enriched and fulfilled. The Vision is for Park View become a community of those who live there at the centre, with staff, relatives and friends all having a sense of belonging and a vested interest in the life of the home. At Park View we are dedicated to providing person centred care that meets the individual needs of our residents. We understand that a holistic approach comprises many elements, and our model of care enables us to offer residential care encompassing the physical needs of each resident, as well as enhancing their emotional, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing.

🎉 Care Home Open Week 2025 🎶

We opened our doors this week for Care Home Open Week, and what a fantastic time we had. In keeping with this year's theme 'Power of Music' - we had special performances by the talented Shelley at Mini Concerts, to joyful sing-alongs and dancing 💃🎤🧓👵

These events remind us of the strong community spirit we have and the joy that music and connection can bring.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made this week so meaningful. Here's to more moments of fun, love, and togetherness 💛

🌿 International Picnic Day 🌞

Today we celebrated with a heartwarming gathering that brought generations together! 💛

We enjoyed a beautiful outdoor picnic in the sunshine, joined by a group of cheerful little visitors. The garden was filled with laughter, stories, and shared snacks 🍰

From singing songs to playing games and enjoying homemade treats, it was a day of connection, smiles, and memories we’ll all cherish. 🧸👵👴

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this intergenerational picnic so special. These moments of togetherness mean the world to us. 💕

This Loneliness Awareness Week (9th - 15th June), we’re joining the conversation on loneliness, because we believe no one should feel alone. 💛

Loneliness is a natural human emotion, but when it’s long-lasting, it can affect our wellbeing. This year’s theme is “Meeting Loneliness Together”, reminding us that simple acts, a message, a call, a chat... can have a big impact.

Together, we can normalise talking about loneliness and help others feel seen, heard, and valued. Let's be there for one another.

Sandwiches made with care – and a lot of joy! 🥪🌿

This week, we had a hands-on afternoon prepping fresh vegetables and making sandwiches together. It wasn’t just about the food, it was about community, laughter, and feeling part of something meaningful.

Purposeful activities may seem simple but they spark memories, and foster independence, and grow connections 👵👴

We’re proud of every moment that brings our community closer, even (or especially!) the ones around a chopping board.

💙 In support of , we got creative with a special craft session making beautiful Forget-Me-Nots, the national symbol of dementia awareness.

These lovely flowers don’t just brighten up the room, they also spark conversations, memories, and moments of connection.

It’s a joy to express ourselves through art, and to stand with so many others raising awareness about dementia this week.

🌟 Did you know Montessori games aren’t just for children?
More and more care settings are using Montessori-style activities to engage older adults.

These simple, hands-on games:
🧩 Encourage memory and problem-solving
💬 Promote conversation and connection
👐 Help maintain independence and dignity

From matching shapes to sorting buttons or telling stories, every activity is personalized and meaningful.

It’s beautiful to see how small moments can make a big difference 💕

Did you know that shared reading and play between children and older adults has profound benefits for both generations?
👧👴 For children, these moments nurture literacy skills, empathy, and social confidence.
👵👦 For older adults, they offer cognitive stimulation, reduce loneliness, and create a renewed sense of purpose.

Whether it’s storytime, board games, or playful storytelling, intergenerational activities build bonds that span decades.

📚❤️ Let’s celebrate the joy and connection that come from bringing generations together.
