This week two of our pharmacies received a visit from election candidates.

Our Durrington Team welcomed Labour Candidate Beccy Cooper to their pharmacy joined by Janet Morrison from Community Pharmacy England and Julia Powell from Community Pharmacy Sussex and Surrey.

Our Sittingbourne team received a visit from Conservative Candidate Aisha Cuthbert joined by Mark Anyaegbuna from Community Pharmacy Kent.

During the visits, the teams highlighted the critical issue of underfunding in community pharmacies, which has led to widespread closures across the nation. They emphasised the essential role community pharmacies play as the first point of contact for patients, providing vital healthcare access. Ensuring sufficient funding is imperative to maintain this crucial service and continue supporting patient health and well-being.

Due to a car crashing into our pharmacy, our Fitzalan (Littlehampton) pharmacy is not safe to enter. From Monday, the pharmacy will be temporarily relocated to 86 High Street, Littlehampton BN17 5DX.

The pharmacy's temporary location is next door to an existing Kamsons Pharmacy. Patient's who are nominated to our Fitzalan branch, should look out for signage to ensure they are visiting the correct pharmacy.

Have you got a sore throat which may feel dry, scratchy and cause you difficulty in swallowing? Is there a redness in back of your mouth or do your neck glands feel swollen?

Instead of waiting for a GP appointment, speak to a member of our pharmacy team. Our pharmacists are now able to provide additional treatments (where appropriate), such as antibiotics, without the need to see a doctor.

Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection that's very contagious in young children but not usually serious.

Impetigo starts with red sores or blisters. The blisters burst and leave crusty, golden-brown patches. It is very common in young children, but anyone can get it.

If you think you or your child may have this, then see your one of our pharmacists who will be able to advise you on treatment, without the need to see a GP.

Today our Southgate, Crawley team hosted an opening party for their newly refitted pharmacy. Thank you to our colleagues at Change Grow Live, Community Pharmacy Sussex and Surrey and Southgate Medical Practice who joined us to celebrate our new pharmacy.

Our teams were able to discuss the services available from community pharmacies and how our teams can help relieve the pressure on GP surgeries through services such as Pharmacy First, the NHS Hypertension service and the Contraception Service.

Used inhalers typically have 30% of the original propellant remaining in the canister. Inhalers returned to pharmacies for safe disposal will be incinerated at high
