We spent some time recently with Jackie Avenell, Lifestyle Coordinator at QE Park Private Care Home, and had a great conversation about supporting the local community.
We’re really pleased to have Jackie and the team on board in supporting the launch of Reflections of Guildford in it's new home of QE Baptist Church on 6th May — helping us build a warm, inclusive space for people living with dementia and their families.

As the seasons change, so can our sleep.

Small adjustments to your routine can make a big difference to rest and wellbeing 🌙

1. Keep a consistent routine
Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day, even as daylight hours change.

2. Make your space comfortable
Adjust bedding, lighting, and room temperature to suit the new season, small changes can improve sleep quality.

3. Get natural daylight during the day
Spending time in natural light helps your body clock adjust, making it easier to rest at night.

Supporting good sleep can have a positive impact on your loved one’s wellbeing 💙

Reflections of Guildford will be a warm, welcoming space for people living with dementia, their families and carers to come together, enjoy meaningful activities, share conversation and build new connections.

We were delighted to meet with Sallie Barker, former Mayor of Guildford and now Councillor for Pilgrims Ward.
It was a really positive conversation around the growing need for dementia support locally, and an opportunity to gather support for our upcoming Reflections of Guildford — a free dementia group designed to bring people together in a safe, welcoming space.
Building strong relationships within our community is key to making initiatives like this a success, and we’re excited about what’s to come.
