🀧🦠 Cold or flu - knowing the difference might not seem urgent, but it can help you act right. A cold often develops slowly and stays mostly around your nose and throat, while the flu tends to hit fast, affects your whole body and leaves you feeling really unwell.

πŸ‘‰ Check what to expect and when to seek help:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/common-cold/

Rest well, keep hydrated and if things feel worse than β€œjust a cold”, don’t hesitate to seek advice.

πŸ’Šβœ¨ Did you know your local pharmacy can do far more than just hand out prescriptions? Under the Pharmacy First scheme, pharmacists can now help with a range of common conditions β€” often without needing a GP appointment! πŸ™Œ

πŸ’¬ They can offer advice, treatments and even prescribe for minor illnesses. So next time you’re under the weather, head to your local pharmacy first.

Industrial action is taking place this week, and NHS services across Surrey are already extremely busy.

Surrey’s Joint Chief Medical Officer is asking residents to use NHS services responsibly, choose the right service for their needs, and help protect care for those who need it most.

πŸ”Ή Consider Pharmacy First for minor illnesses
πŸ”Ή Use NHS 111 for advice and guidance
πŸ”Ή Only use A&E for emergencies

This time the impact of industrial action is expected to be exacerbated by the high demand for services already being experienced, with cases of flu peaking earlier and predicted to grow, amid mounting concerns over what is expected to be one of the worst flu seasons the NHS has seen.
