We’re starting to see the first signs of spring around the home, and we are all very much looking forward to the sunny days and warmer weather. ☀️🪻🌷🐝

As residents enjoy their walks around the garden and areas surrounding the home, they have been delighted to spot the first spring blooms gradually appearing. We can’t wait to see our flower beds filled with colour and greenery, and all the beautiful wildflowers that pop up around the home. Residents have been admiring the first flowers to bloom and enjoyed identifying their favourite flowers.

We are looking forward to spending more time outdoors with the residents this spring and summer, enjoying the fresh air, sunshine, and the delights of nature on our doorstep.

At Beritaz Care, we understand that nothing benefits the mind and body quite like a good night’s sleep. 🛌😴 Quality sleep plays an important part in the health and wellness of the residents within our homes.

Today is World Sleep Day, an event aimed at raising awareness of the importance of sleep health. The theme of World Sleep Day 2026 is ‘Sleep well, live better’, encouraging everyone to take steps to prioritise their sleep routine to benefit their overall health.

On World Sleep Day, we are sharing how we prioritise sleep health as part of our care service, and why good sleep matters for our residents. Sleep health is a key factor in the holistic approach to care we take within our homes. Residents’ sleep quality, preferences, and any negative sleep factors are all included in the personalised care plans developed for each individual. The staff within our homes do everything they can to support sleep health, from helping residents to establish good sleep routines that work for them to making sure the home environment is conducive to a good night’s sleep.

Recently, we took a visit to explore a lovely local business just a short journey from Robertson Nursing Home. 🚐 ☕️ 🧁 Our residents were delighted to take a trip out to The Pavilion by Howling Owl in Godalming to enjoy some refreshments.

The residents enjoyed a cup of tea and some delicious cakes while having a good chat and admiring the décor in the wonderful community café. It is always lovely to make the most of the amenities and landmarks in our local area, as well as supporting a brilliant local business.

Our residents enjoy these trips out to explore Godalming and nearby areas, and we are looking forward to going on more adventures with the residents during spring and summer.

Today is International Women’s Day and we are celebrating all the incredible women who are part of the Beritaz Care community. 👩🏻👩🏽👵🏼👩🏼

From our management team to the care and support staff working in our home, the brilliant entertainers and community members that support us, and, of course, the wonderful women that we have the privilege of caring for. Throughout Dignity Action Month, our residents and teams have been exploring what dignity looks like within our homes. 💛

At Beritaz Care, dignity is a value at the heart of our person-centred approach to care. From the training our staff receive, to the active role we encourage our residents to take in our home communities, we are committed to ensuring everyone feels respected, valued, and heard.

Dignity Action Month aims to ensure people who use care services or who receive support are treated as individuals and are given choice, control, and a sense of purpose in their daily lives, which is something we are passionate about at Beritaz Care.

Find out how we champion dignity every day within our homes and how we have been celebrating Dignity Action Month, in our latest blog: https://beritazcare.co.uk/news/article/dignity-in-care

Last week, our residents enjoyed a visit from the brilliant Zoo Lab team and the fascinating critters they brought with them. 🐍🕷️🐌

The residents were very interested to see these unusual animals up close and learn all about them from the very knowledgeable Zoo Lab team. Some of the residents were brave enough to gently touch the snake, a first-time experience for most.

This was such an interesting and engaging activity. Our residents were thrilled to take part in such an unusual experience and enjoyed meeting these brilliant critters.

Last week was the monthly meet-up of the Robertson Cooking Club! 👩🏻‍🍳

Our cooking club members always look forward to coming together to bake a new, delicious treat. For these residents, baking and cooking are something they have always greatly enjoyed, and they are happy to have the opportunity to continue this favourite pastime.

Cooking can be a very relaxing activity, which also encourages our residents to reminisce about their lives and their favourite sweet treats. 😁 Our cooking club members enjoy this as both a fun activity and an opportunity to socialise; they love to have a good chat while they measure and mix ingredients.

This time, residents baked a delicious cake, which they were happy to share with their fellow residents… once they’d had the first taste test, of course. 😋🍰

These are just a few of the games our residents have enjoyed trying out recently. We like to find activities that are not only fun but also beneficial to our residents’ wellbeing. ♟️🎾🎲

Whether they are helping with coordination skills, encouraging mobility, or providing cognitive exercise, many of our games help with residents’ physical or mental wellbeing, while also being a fun way to spend some time.

At Robertson Nursing Home, we want to help our residents feel their best, both in body and mind. Our holistic approach to care means everything from the food we provide to the activities we arrange is all intended to support resident wellbeing.

A big well done to Augusta, who yesterday had a big chop and cut off 40cm of her hair to donate to The Little Princess Trust to make real hair wigs for children and young people with cancer. 💇🏼‍♀️

We gathered to watch the big moment and show our support for Augusta, who was smiling throughout. 😁 We absolutely love Augusta’s new look, and she was delighted to know her hair will be making a big difference in the lives of these brave children.

In addition to her hair donation, Augusta has also raised over £400 💰 to contribute towards the costs of making, fitting, and styling the wigs. There is still time to donate if you haven’t done so already, to support Augusta in raising funds for the Little Princess Trust and the work they do, as well as their ground-breaking childhood cancer research projects.

You can donate here: https://fundraise.littleprincesses.org.uk/fundraising/augustas-fundraising-page2026?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=dssb-EM&utm_content=MPC

We are very proud of Augusta and everything she is doing to support such a wonderful cause 💇🏼‍♀️ Thank you to everyone who has donated or shown their support for Augusta!
