Verity Vinen Counsellor MBACP

Verity Vinen Counsellor MBACP Qualified Counsellor working in Surrey, offering a compassionate, confidential and supportive therapeutic counselling service to Adults and Adolescents.

What happens in Counselling? People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons and are often seeking help for the first time in their lives. It takes great courage to get to this point. You may come to counselling with a specific issue, or finding it difficult or even painful to name the problem. The feeling that something is “just not quite right” is often where we start on our journey together. As your counsellor, I am here to develop trust, offer acceptance, empathically listen without judgment, and help you experience a deeper understanding of your feelings and situation. I help you move towards greater independence through encouraging personal growth and responsibility. Sometimes I use creative approaches to help you engage with your feelings. It is always your decision whether you wish to use these or not, and I will take your lead in every session. I aim to make counselling a welcoming safe and confidential space for you to be heard and respected. Areas of Counselling I work with:

Panic Attacks
Depression
Abuse

Supporting your teenager in a crisis.

Our next workshop from The Green Hub Project is on Monday 7th February 7.30 pm at the Pepperpot in Godalming.

Melissa Carter and Tone Tellefsen Hughes will share the latest science on the developmental changes of the teenage brain and how this might affect communication at this part of their life.

Melissa will work on strategies for communication.

Knowing this can really help understand how to, and when to communicate with our teens, but also why this can be so challenging during this time.

Booking is essential and here is the link:

I am a Humanistic Counsellor, and offering online therapy at this stage. Please do get in touch if you are struggling at the moment. There is support out there. The Counselling Directory is a good place to start.

Deciding to go to therapy can be incredibly daunting, and once you’ve made that decision, navigating the different types of therapy can be overwhelming. Here we explore 6 of the most common therapies and how to find a therapist 👉 http://ow.ly/5bm850xCiuR
