✅ Correct answer: FALSE.
In the early stage of an injury, ice is your friend — it helps control swelling and pain. Applying heat too early can make inflammation worse. Save heat therapy for later in the healing process or for tight, aching muscles.

I spend loads of time on Surrey's trails, and summer walking is absolutely brilliant when you're prepared! Here are my top tips for staying comfortable and enjoying every step:
🌟 SMART SUMMER HIKING:
💧 Sip water regularly (little and often!)
🧢 Hat + sunscreen = your best friends
⏰ Early morning walks are magical
🎒 Pack light, move freely
🌳 Take shade breaks - they're part of the adventure!
LISTEN TO YOUR BODY: If you feel dizzy, nauseous, or unusually tired, it's time
for shade and water. Simple as that!
The best hike is the one where you feel great throughout 😊

People who walk at least 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week take 43% fewer sick days than those who don’t. 💪🦠

That’s not just coincidence — it’s science. Regular walking boosts immune function, making it one of the simplest and most effective wellness habits you can adopt.

At Godalming Physio, we recommend walking as a key part of recovery and prevention. Start small, stay consistent, and let your immune system thank you.
