🌿✨Let me introduce you to one of my favourite plant allies and devas, Mugwort (otherwise known as artemisia vulgaris). The name Artemisia refers to the Greek goddess Artemis, who was the goddess of the moon, nature and healing. Therefore, Mugwort is considered a mystical herb that is known for its healing properties, relation to the moon and with protection. Its silvery under-leaf reminds me of the moon! Furthermore, its cooling and drying energetics has been revered for centuries in many traditions. With its antimicrobial, bitter, and anti-inflammatory properties, it’s a powerful ally in both healing and spiritual practices. It also has a calming quality to it, and is excellent to take at bedtime - not just to give you vivid dreams but to also help you get to sleep! 🍃
Historically, mugwort has been used to enhance psychic abilities and offer energetic protection. Ancient cultures burned it to clear negative energies and open the pathways for spiritual insight, while healers and herbalists have relied on its bitter qualities to support digestion and overall well-being. People have also traditionally hung it by their doors to ward off negative energy. Whether used in teas, tinctures, or culinary treats, this herb brings both healing and magic 🌙🔮
Ways to work with mugwort:
• Burn mugwort as a smudge to clear energy and protect your space
• Make a tea or infusion to deepen your dreamwork and intuitive abilities
• Create a sachet or charm for spiritual protection and insight
You could even put it in your baking to infuse your cakes with magic and healing properties (I especially love to work with plant devas in baking, giving thanks to them and connecting with their energies whilst I prepare the food).
Whether you’re using it to enhance psychic vision or as a powerful protective herb, mugwort holds deep magic in its leaves. ✨ Have you ever worked with this sacred herb?
