Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative therapy dating back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. There are different types of cupping therapies used throughout the ages with cups being made from glass silicone, bamboo and more. This causes your skin to rise and redden as your blood vessels expand. (Some people are more prone to the red circle marks remaining after treatment). Once applied, the cups can be left static or moved around the body in a massage movement. Cupping is said to help with many ailments including fevers, pain, inflammation, indigestion, psoriasis, high blood pressure, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and is also a type of deep-tissue massage. Some even say this ancient form of massage helps to remove toxins and stagnant blood from the body and promotes good health.
