ever since starting crossfit, sn**ching was one of the most difficult things to learn, but even after understanding the technique and knowing what to do, i was held back massively by my ankle mobility. In the first video you can see my foot caving inwards in the bottom position of the sn**ch, causing my knees to also cave in, making it difficult to actually sn**ch and also made me lose a lot of confidence in this lift.

Ever since working on my ankle mobility and doing specific isometrics and foot strengthening work, as well as strengthening my glutes and hips in my actual crossfit programming by , i have seen a huge improvement with my knees not caving in and i can now have confidence with the lift knowing that it’s not going to be my bad mobility causing me issues.

Sports rehab isn’t just for injuries, it’s for normal people, doing normal things.

rehabilitation is often thought of as a progress killer or a programme where you just do lots of rest and gain nothing from it, this misconception leaves people hesitant to try rehab but in actual fact, if done properly, rehab will help you to progress further when you return back to your sport and will be similar to a training programme.

Don’t do all the extras if you haven’t nailed the basics.

-a proper sleep schedule will help you recover way better than an ice bath will

-having a training routine with REST days will help you to progress far better than just training every day

-taking vitamins for healthy joints is great, but regular sports therapy is far more beneficial than any vitamin, and if you’re taking pain relief to mask pain, it’s way better to have a consultation with a sports therapist to see where you can be treated!

Injuries can feel like the worst thing in the world especially when you’re competing in sports or even just doing sports recreationally, time out can feel like it’s an impossible step to take because you don’t want to lose any gains or skills that you developed pre injury.

The point of sports specific rehabilitation is to get you back to your sport BETTER than before and work on strengthening the positions that increased injury before to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
