A poem from a Funeral Director

Every single funeral
is an honour to direct
Being trusted by their loved ones
Showing care and our respect.

Meeting fascinating people
And hearing their life’s story,
How their family loved them dearly
And will forever miss them sorely.

It’s always a great privilege
To be standing by their side
Helping with tough decisions,
supporting and being their guide.

Each service we’ve attended,
As unique as it may be,
We always get reminded
That loving isn’t free.

For everyone we’ve loved,
Will one day go away,
And when that time eventually comes,
Grief is the price we’ll pay.

So when you lose a loved one,
And your heart is torn in two,
We’ll be standing here beside you,
Honouring them, with you.

°Someone you know is preparing for their first Christmas without their husband, wife, mother, father, cousin, best friend, brother, sister, daughter or son. Others are preparing for their last.

°Regardless of the specifics, remember that this season of joy is often a season of sorrow for many. Be kind, be generous, give love, give help; if nothing else, just don't give people a hard time.

°Merry christmas to those of you who have difficult relationships with your family. Those of you spending christmas without a loved one. Those of you going through break-up. Those of you that feel weighed down by situations.

°It's going to be okay. All you do today/tomorrow is survive. You've got this.

From the first contact with Michael, the service has been exemplary. The care and respect with which they have treated my late brother has been wonderful as well as the compassion and support they have provided to myself. A wonderful firm.

After last years success

Last night at our Memorial Service was another fantastic success. Thank you to everyone who came, sadly due to circumstances out of my control I was unable to be there and i would like to thank Jason Stockton, Frankie Brown but most of all my dear friend and colleague Jo Rayner for pulling out all the stops in my absence to make sure the night was amazing. This morning all the loved ones names were read out individually that we have had the honour of caring for in the last 5 years and the names put on our branch memorial tree. May they all Rest In Peace xx

Someone once said when you love someone with Dementia you lose them more and more everyday. When they are diagnosed, when they go through different stages, when they need treatment and when they die. This is called "Ambigua Loss."
I wouldn’t wish Dementia on anyone. As the brain slowly dies, it changes physically and eventually forgets who their loved ones are. They can end up lying in bed not moving and not eating or drinking.
There will be people who will scroll by this post because Dementia has not touched them. They may not know what it's like to have a loved one who battled or is fighting Dementia.
To Raise Awareness of this Cruel Disease, I'd like my Friends to Put this on their Page Today.
