Keep the main thing the main thing.
• "Should I be taking pre-workout?"
• "Should I eat at certain times?"
• "What if I can't eat during this time of the day?"
• "What should my macros be?"
• "Should I adjust my carb and fat percentages?"
All of these are perfectly valid questions. And ones that should and can be answered.
But many of these questions are being asked too soon. They create a distraction from the main thing.
They complicate and distract you from doing the basics first.
Taking pre-workout does not matter if you aren't consistently drinking enough water.
The time of day you eat is insignificant if you are sleeping 5 hours a night regularly.
Your carb and fat percentages don't need adjusted if you're not even eating enough food to support what you are trying to do.
The boring and the simple advice that works
• is sustainable
• and more often than not, is the thing you need to be doing.
The foundation of any pyramid needs to be the strongest or else the stuff at the top won't matter and will fall apart.
The foundation of your nutrition pyramid
Get enough sleep & water (6-8 hours and 2-4L)
Get enough calories in to support weight loss or muscle gain
Once you are doing that consistently then let's talk about what's next.
