Four more Swansea-based licensed businesses have been forced to close temporarily after failing to make their premises safe for customers.

Swansea Council's Public Health Team has issued closure notices to Joiners Arms in Bishopston, Boss Brewery in Landore, West End AFC Sports and Social Club in Townhill and the Three Compasses in Clydach.

All four businesses have failed to comply with coronavirus restrictions (The Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions)(No2)(Wales) Regulations 2020) which were introduced to ensure social distancing for customers and help protect them against Covid 19.

The latest action follows visits by both council and police licensing officers and have required all four to close immediately for two weeks so that owners can make improvements to their premises.

Improvements include the introduction of measures to control entrances and exits, toilet facilities, ensure the layout of the business enables 2 metre social distancing between persons who do not live together and to ensure staff are wearing suitable protective gear.
