The festive season is all about kindness, gratitude and connection. We are embracing this through our BACCN Acts of Kindness campaign.

We would like to recognise those that make a difference in large or small ways, and help to make our critical care nursing community shine brighter.

This is your chance to nominate a friend or colleague who deserves to be recognised for their kindness.

For further details on how to get involved and submit your nomination, visit our website: www.baccn.org

You are invited to support a new research study from the University of Leeds exploring how everyday communication in healthcare teams relates to staff wellbeing.

The study, led by PhD researcher Olga Lainidi, invites UK healthcare workers to take part in a 7-day online diary study about communication, speaking up, and silence at work.

They are particularly keen to hear from critical care nurses and staff, whose experiences in high-pressure settings are vital to understanding communication and wellbeing in healthcare.

Participation involves:
- a one-time questionnaire
- a 7-day daily diary (5mins/day)

All participants will be entered in 2 prize draws: £50 & £100 GiftPay vouchers

The British Societies have published its guidelines on the management of emergencies in patients on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.

BACCN Chair and critical care nurse Ian Naldrett represented the BACCN, who were the only nursing association to endorse this document which was the first of its kind guideline.

This ensured that the voice of the critical care nurse had clear representation in the development of these guidelines.
