This weekend I did something a little different…

I stepped a bit outside my comfort zone and spoke at an event about something that fills me with so much joy; sharing chiropractic care with my community.

It was a chance to talk about the heart of what we do here at Alverstoke Chiropractic. And truly, it’s you - our brilliant, kind, curious, committed practice members, who make it all so meaningful.

Over the years, you’ve taught me so much about what it means to show up fully. To listen. To support. To care.

So while I may have been the one on stage, I carried your stories, your progress, and your trust with me. This little practice by the sea has grown because of the way you show up too.

The importance of shopping local to your area.

Recently I went in to The Book Shop in Lee-on-the-Solent and found some fantastic second-hand books, some of which I had never seen before. I ended up buying 10 books from them and I have to say they're in great condition and one of them is even signed by the author.

But it's not just buying products anymore, because the people here have gone from simply serving me at a till to becoming good friends and in the last 18 months we have collaborated with each other to run book events and they very kindly have stocked no less than four of my books when they were published.

You wouldn't get this kind of personal attention from a mainstream shop. When selling books at the larger and more famous shops the service was minimal, the books expensive and they did not care if they sold one book or a thousand books. Don't even get me started on what one of them did to my hovercraft books!

So buy from your local shops, keep the high street open and make friends with those behind the counter. They are there for you.

I remember thinking my due date was like a finish line… but really, they were a rough guide. Most babies don’t arrive exactly on their due date and that’s completely fine!

Pregnancy yoga with Gabrielle Gant Yoga 🩷 starts June

Join us for an hour of specialist-lead pregnancy yoga.

Gabrielle is a certified Yoga Alliance & IPHM approved Pregnancy Yoga teacher in Gosport, providing safe and comfortable yoga classes to support during the second and third trimester of pregnancy.

This class is suitable for all levels, whether you are new to yoga or have an experienced practise. She will lead you in a way that feels most comfortable to your individual needs.

The benefits of this class include:

Full body stretch and strengthening during pregnancy.

Improvement of sleep health and pregnancy symptoms.

Support with pelvic girdle pain and lower back pain.

Breathing exercises and meditations for pregnancy preparation for birth.
