We haven't posted on this page in a while so thought I would add a few posts starting with last Saturday. We joined our gym instructor and gym buddies on a walk.... Well a walk is what we had in mind when we originally committed, then to finding out the day before it was a 14 mile hike, we couldn't not go. So off we trotted with the dog on this glorious day.
By mile 5 Chris's foot started to play up. He was contemplating catching an Uber from the next village but decided against it and plodded on. Willow on the other hand was a good girl and was not even a smidge tired, even by mile 14, sometimes I feel bad as I feel she would have a better life on a farm with fields and her days would be filled with running but she has us and the love and that's her cards.

4 days on and I have a toenail I fear may fall off but I think I am probably over reacting as it's just a tad bruised but Chris has had a major Gout flare up so we are both whining but very much proud of ourselves on something we wouldn't usually push ourselves to do.
So a massive thanks goes to Victoria Wilson for setting up the walk and being a huge push into helping us know we can push past the limits we thought we had and we can actually achieve more. Xx

Although we are laughing, this isn't based on a happy situation here. We are having to dig a little resting ground for our beloved 19 year old cat Gary ready for Tuesday. The place where we had decided to lay him when the time came was the place where Barney our foster dog had decided he would "let his backside run freely". Gary's resting place had been chosen years ago as we never thought he'd still be plodding on this long but it's amazing how he has smashed our thoughts with "screw you, I like it here attitude", but sadly his back legs are going, he has a putrid smelling ear that wouldn't be operated on over 2 year ago because of his age and now got a lot worse and the boy is just existing in life. Still eating and drinking but just not living and we don't really know what pain this ear is giving him. So after a sad conversation with the vet and his advice to be kinder to do something earlier before it's too late and he just lives to suffer we booked him in for a full check but to make his journey over Rainbow bridge.
With the cleaning of the resting place we stupidly thought the rain would flush it away but we were so so wrong. So today's prep was clean and dig so we didn't have to do a last minute on the day.
Chris does not cope with animal p**p and so as the loving wife to be I picked up my camera to film him retch. Making a sad situation a little more light hearted. 🐾

2 years ago today, on 29th February 2024, Sam asked me to marry her — and I said YES with my hands in the air 🙌💍
We thought it was only right to recreate the moment, and with just under 4 months to go until we become Mr & Mrs Ling, the excitement is very real.
Same venue. Same smiles. Same guy showing off his ring like he's never getting over it 😄
To everyone who was there that day and everyone who's been with us on this journey — thank you. We can't wait to celebrate with you all on June 27th

We jumped on the Ai job memes after Chris making this one for Rebecca Marshall now I have to say I would be all over Becky's idea of this... A mobile bar!!!! gone are the days of the video man and the pop man driving round in the 80s what a comeback this would be. Can we all vote that she makes this a real thing.... Weddings and events, it's endless opportunities 🥰, then you have Sam's bar at the old crown bingo, what I would give to have that as mine. Xx
