What is yoga?
Patanjali defines yoga in his Yoga Sūtras, as ‘yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind-stuff’.
“yogaś citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ”
The ultimate goal whether you’re practising āsana, prāṇāyāma, meditation or yogic techniques is to find Self Realisation. That you are not the chatter of your mind, you are not the role you take in your household, you are not your job title. The yogic techniques teach us to go inwards to find this Realisation and liberation. Liberation from constant suffering.
