Since sharing this post a few people have been asking - and no - I haven’t had any complaints about my price increase luckily! You’re all amazing 🫶🏻
I saw this as a fun trend to show improvement and growth 🫶🏻
💜 Before you begin - both images are of That’s Better! Sports Massage Therapy at different stages of the journey 💜
✨ 2018 me shouldn’t be charging the same as 2026 me and sometimes I need to remind myself of that when I feel guilty about increasing my prices. This is the same for so many other small business owners!
✨ This isn’t a comparison between home-based therapists and clinic-based therapists; there are so many factors that influence pricing. These photos simply show how far my business has come.

I was just beginning my training, completing practice hours at home and in college.
Overheads were minimal:
• Insurance covered by college
• Fewer (and cheaper) materials needed
• No rental costs
• No CPD costs
• Still learning and developing my skills
✨ 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔
Now working as a massage therapist full-time (and if you count all the behind-the-scenes work, it definitely is full-time!)
With growth comes greater costs and higher quality:
• Increased household bills
• More clients = more materials
• Rising material costs
• Insurance
• Continued professional development
• Clinic room rental
• Accounting fees
• Card payment fees
• Significantly improved quality of treatments
💸 With that in mind, just a reminder that my prices will be increasing slightly in March. I was fortunate enough to freeze them last year, but unfortunately I can’t do that again this year.
🫶🏻 Thank you for taking the time to read, and for your continued support and understanding - it truly means the world 🩶
